BUDWEISER FIESTA LATINA HAPPY HOUR: The Marlins will present the Budweiser Fiesta Latina Happy Hour at Strike Zone at Gate H from 5:30-7 p.m. Salsa Casino Dance will provide free salsa lessons during Fiesta Latina every Friday night home game.

EDUCATORS APPRECIATION NIGHT: This annual event recognizes the 2009 Teacher of the Year in Miami-Dade; Broward and Palm Beach. Jacquelle E. Sconiers of the Juvenile Justice Center School (Miami-Dade); Nicole Marsala of Coral Springs Middle School (Broward) and Michael L. Horgan of William T. Dwyer High School (Palm Beach) will receive an award from the Florida Marlins during an on-field pregame ceremony and also throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The Marlins donated two complimentary tickets to each school for the school’s teacher of the year and South Florida educators received a exclusive discount on advanced tickets to the game. As part of the festivities, the chorus from Chapel Trail Elementary will sing the National Anthem.

PLANTATION ATHLETIC LEAGUE NIGHT: The Plantation Athletic League has over 1,000 players, coaches, family and friends attending the game. This is the largest youth league to attend a Marlins game since August of 2006. The PAL will participate in the pre-game youth baseball parade and will have a member throw out the first pitch.

FRIDAY NIGHTS ARE FUN: The Florida Marlins Community Foundation hosts a key fundraiser every Friday night during Marlins home games at the Broward Health Community Corner, section 149. Fans can check out the raffle, silent auction, grab bags, mystery table and other special features. The excitement starts when the gates open at 5:30 and continues until the final out of the third inning.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Group members from Chapel Trail Elementary will perform the National Anthem as part of the pregame ceremonies.

BLANKET COLLECTION: Volunteers from Camillus House will be collecting blankets at Gate F and H before each of the weekend games vs. the Kansas Royals. FRIENDS OF 440 SCHOLARSHIP FUND: David Samson, President of the Florida Marlins, and Nancy Olson, Executive Director of the Florida Marlins Community Foundation, will be presenting a check for $2,000 to the Friends of 440 Scholarship, Inc. The Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a non-profit organization comprised of attorneys, doctors, and judges or those whose employment is connected with the Florida Workers’ Compensation Act. They donate their time and energy to promote social, educational and charitable causes connected with workers’ compensation systems in the state of Florida. This non-profit organization also provides scholarships to children of injured workers or whose parents’ employment is within the administration of Florida worker’s compensation laws. The scholarship recipients must exemplify the spirit of professionalism through personal and academic achievement and lack the economic ability to continue their education without assistance of scholarship funds. MILITARY TICKET OFFER: The "Stars and Stripes" ticket program for the United States Military staff allows Active and Reserve personnel, National Guard, and their dependents, to attend Sunday Marlins regular season games at no cost. BASEBALL BUDDIES: Every Sunday throughout the season, local Little League teams, dressed in full uniform, will have the opportunity to take the field for the National Anthem. This week’s Baseball Buddies are from City of Sunrise Baseball League.

BASEBALL FOR AUTISM AWARENESS: The Marlins teamed up with the Broward and Miami-Dade Chapters of the Autism Society of America to promote autism awareness in South Florida. The ASA is bringing over 250 people with autism, family and friends to the game. The national anthem will be performed by a group of children from Dade and Broward with autism spectrum disorder. The first pitch will be thrown by Paul Echeverria, a child with autism that plays baseball with the Cooper City Optimist. The ASA will be distributing information at the Broward Health Community Booth in section 149. The Autism Society of Florida is dedicated to increasing public awareness about autism and the day-to-day issues faced by individuals with autism, their families and the professionals with whom they interact. The Society and its chapters share a common mission of providing information and education, and supporting research and advocating for programs and services for the autism community. There are over 5,000 children with autism in Broward and Dade County schools.

FAMILY FUNZONE: The Family Funzone includes bounce houses, live music with a DJ, a mini carousel, inflatables, and live entertainment. The Family Funzone is located outside of section 146 along with Marlins Fan Headquarters.

NESTLÉ DRUMSTICK DIAMOND DASH: Kids ages 12-and-under will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game during the Nestlé Drumstick Diamond Dash. Once the game has ended, kids and parents (or chaperons) should report to the concourse of section 141-142, where the guests will be escorted on to the field.

WALGREEN’S FAMILY SUNDAY: With the purchase of select products from any participating Walgreen’s stores in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties, fans can bring the receipt and proof of purchase to the box office and get one free Club B ticket with the purchase of one Club B ticket. DINNER ON THE DIAMOND: The 12th Annual Dinner on the Diamond presented by 790 The Ticket will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2008 after the 1:10 p.m. game with the Kansas City Royals. NATIONAL ANTHEM: The Ramblewood Middle School and JP Taravella High School marching bands will partner to perform the National Anthem. The Ramblewood band is made up of 357 students and is directed by John Nista. The marching band marched at the Macy’s Holiday Parade this past December. Taravella, under the direction of Neil Jenkins, was the Grand Champions at the 2007-08 Vero Beach Marching Band Competition and also marched in the 2008 New Years Day parade in Rome, Italy.

FREESTYLE FLASHBACK CONCERT WITH STEVIE B AND LISA LISA: Stevie B, "The King of Freestyle," is an African-American singer, songwriter and record producer of Cuban descent that was highly influential in the Latin freestyle and Miami dance music scene of the late 1980s. His first dance hit was "Party Your Body" in 1987, and followed with top 40 hits like "In My Eyes," "I Wanna Be The One," "I'm Dreamin' of Love," and "Spring Love," the hit that earned him a Gold Record. GENERAL INFORMATION

ALL-STAR BALLOTING: Voting for the 2008 MLB All-Star Game is currently underway at Dolphin Stadium through June 12. Fans can pick up ballots in several locations at both the 100 and 200 levels. Marlins fans are also encouraged to continue casting their votes online at the team’s official website, www.floridamarlins.com.

CELEBRATION CLUB: The Florida Marlins Community Foundation allows fans to display a message on Marlins Vision. Personalized messages will be shown in the middle of the 6th inning of every Marlins home game on the right field board. Messages will run for the first 12 people who call the Marlins office to make a reservation or sign up at www.cornerstonesforkids.com. Fans taking advantage of this program will also receive a framed picture of the message. The cost is $50.00 per message, with all proceeds benefiting the Florida Marlins Community Foundation. In addition, each caller will have the option to pick up one dozen roses or a gift bag (adult or child’s) at the Broward Health Community Corner for an additional fee.

Billy The Marlin or the Marlins Mermaids can deliver a gift bag and/or roses directly to a fan’s seat location for a $100 donation. If it is a fan’s birthday, Billy/Mermaids will lead the section to sing “Happy Birthday.” The first person to place a reservation for a message and gift bag/roses will be featured on Marlins Vision as the Al’s Florist & Gifts “Catch of the Day.” Cost of the “Catch of the Day” is $150. Also, one child a game can accompany Billy the Marlin on the field during the 7th inning stretch to sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” for a $100 donation.

Note: Marriage proposals can be arranged. The cost is a $250 donation, which includes a dozen roses. This requires special coordination so the more notice the better. BROWARD HEALTH COMMUNITY CORNER: The Broward Health Community Corner consists of two kiosks at section 149 and serves as the headquarters for the Florida Marlins community programs. The Florida Marlins Community Foundation will staff their kiosk every game from the time the gates open until the last out of the third inning. Auctions, raffles, and Marlins official Game Programs, Score Cards, Year Books and Media Guides are available.

PAPA JOHN’S 10-STRIKEOUTS PROMOTION: Every time the Marlins pitching staff records 10 or more strikeouts at a home game, fans can take their game ticket to participating Papa John’s locations in exchange for a small pizza. Promotion is valid for eat-in-only and must be redeemed within 48 hours.

MARLINS RADIO NETWORK: All 162 regular season games will be broadcast on 790 The Ticket and the Marlins Radio Network in English and on WQBA 1140 AM in Spanish. The Marlins Radio Network consists of: WSWN 900 AM in Belle Glade, WELE 1380 AM in Daytona Beach, WEFL 760 AM in West Palm Beach, WFFG 1300 AM in Marathon, WKWF 1600 AM in Key West, WSTU 1450 AM in Stuart, WWCN 770 AM Fort Myers/Naples.

PARKING AND GATE OPENING: Parking lots at Dolphin Stadium will open two hours prior to game time (Gate 4 will open two and a half hours prior to game time). Stadium gates H and G will open one and a half hour prior to game time. Gate F will open one hour prior to game time. Additional gates may be opened as needed.
