Abstract: Almost all species of Conocybe sect. Conocybe, stirps Tenera are critically evaluated. Type material of European and extra-European taxa is studied. Conocybe aurea var. hololeuca, Conocybe macrocephala var. macrospora and var. nedheimensis are proposed as new, and Conocybe abrupti- bulbosa and Conocybe hehnku are considered synonyms of Conocybe macrocephala. Microscopical drawings of all treated taxa and colour plates of the three new taxa are given. Mycosphere 6(1), 19–42, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/6/1/4 Abstract A study of diversity of coprophilous species of Conocybe was carried out in Punjab state of India during the years 2007 to 2011. This research paper represents 22 collections belonging to 16 Conocybe species growing on five diverse dung types. The species include Conocybe albipes, C. apala, C. brachypodii, C. crispa, C. fuscimarginata, C. lenticulospora, C. leucopus, C. magnicapitata, C. microrrhiza var. coprophila var. nov., C. moseri, C. rickenii, C. subpubescens, C. subxerophytica var. subxerophytica, C. subxerophytica var. brunnea, C. uralensis and C. velutipes. For all these taxa, dung types on which they were found growing are mentioned and their distinctive characters are described and compared with similar taxa along with a key for their identification. The taxonomy of ten taxa is discussed along with the drawings of morphological and anatomical features. Conocybe microrrhiza var. coprophila is proposed as a new variety. Vermont Forest Health Insect and Disease Observations — May 2020 Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation May 2020 vtforest.com Weather Recap This month’s weather started off cold and wet, with snowfall occurring in most parts of the state through mid-May. Compared to last year, this month was warmer and dryer than May of 2019. Statewide tem- peratures averaged 52.9°F, which was 2 degrees warmer than May of last year. Statewide, precipitation averaged 2.93 inches, which is 2.73 inches less than May of last year. Minimum relative humidity (RH) values for the Northeast Kingdom were below normal. On May 23rd and 24th, the low RH at the Nulhegan remote automatic weather station was 12%, and Temperature and precipitation departure from the low RH in Montgomery and Walden normal. Maps and data: Northeast Regional Cli- was 8%. This, combined with no precipi- mate Center. tation since May 16th, caused extremely dry fuel conditions and resulted in several fires. Soil moisture drought indices are approach- ing mid-summer values and large dead fuels are at the seasonal minimum. Sugar maple phenology at our long-term monitoring site in Underhill had observed bud break on May 11th, with full leaf-out following two weeks later on May 26th. Each date is 8 days later than the long-term average. Some parts of the state experienced frost on May 11th and 12th, which damaged understory sugar maple. -

The Complexity of Morchella Systematics: A Case of the Yellow Morel from Israel Segula Masaphy,* Limor Zabari, Doron Goldberg, and Gurinaz Jander-Shagug A B C Abstract Individual morel mushrooms are highly polymorphic, resulting in confusion in their taxonomic distinction. In particu- lar, yellow morels from northern Israel, which are presumably Morchella esculenta, differ greatly in head color, head shape, ridge arrangement, and stalk-to-head ratio. Five morphologically distinct yellow morel fruiting bodies were genetically character- ized. Their internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region within the nuclear ribosomal DNA and partial LSU (28S) gene were se- quenced and analyzed. All of the analyzed morphotypes showed identical genotypes in both sequences. A phylogenetic tree with retrieved NCBI GenBank sequences showed better fit of the ITS sequences to D E M. crassipes than M. esculenta but with less than 85% homology, while LSU sequences, Figure 1. (1998): Revision of Velenovský’s species of the genus Galera which belong to the genera Conocybe and Pholiotina - Czech Mycol. 51: 41-70 All species of Galera described by Velenovský and belonging to the genera Conocybe and Pholiotina are critically revised. Of 31 species cited in Velenovský’s papers many are considered dubious, the herbarium material being in a too bad state to allow a correct interpretation; in a number of cases such material is even not existing. Two species are described as new, nine new combinations are proposed and six species are reduced to synonyms. Unas de las primeras especies de colmenillas en aparecer en ambientes ribereños Los crespillos son un grupo de especies de colmenillas caracterizadas por la mitra semilibre de fructificación exclusivamente primaveral, pertenecientes anteriormente al género Mitrophora Por Javier Marcos Martínez 783 Los crespillos son un grupo de especies de colmenillas caracterizadas por la mitra semilibre de fructificación exclusivamente primaveral, pertenecientes anteriormente al género Mitrophora, incluidas actualmente en la sección Distantes del género Morchella, comestibles mediocres previo tratamiento, que son una de las primeras especies en fructificar de dicho género, vaticinando en algunas zonas la presencia de otras especies de colmenillas mucho más apreciadas. A pesar de ser un grupo de especies poco apreciadas debido a su bajo rendimiento en la cocina, reciben numerosos nombres vulgares en castellano como colmenilla pequeña, crespillo, falsa colmenilla o morillón, en catalán como fals arigany o en euskera sasikarraspina.
