Centretown Emergency Food Centre (http://cefcottawa.org/) Food and money—CEFC was asked to serve people outside of their catchment area in the aftermath of the tornados in the region. Client needs and the few extras made a serious dent in CEFC supplies. Items on the general needs list (http://cefcottawa.org/food-needs/) and these special requests would be *very* helpful: canned tuna, cereal, canned soup, canned pasta sauce. Volunteers—Able-bodied volunteers are needed in limited numbers (space is limited). The regulars are aging and lifting is required in stocking shelves. Contact CEFC at 613-232-3059 or [email protected] if this kind of community work would be good on your resumé. “Walk for the Centre” Walk-a-thon: Centretown Emergency Food Centre works tirelessly for our hungry neighbours.
