The ‘Stockport Showcase of Dance 2015’ arrives once again at The Plaza Theatre on Thursday 25th June. This is the sixth consecutive year that the event has taken place and is an evening dedicated to celebrating the talent of the dancers from over ten of Stockport’s Secondary Schools and Colleges. Students aged between 11 and 18 will be showcasing their talents and performing an array of different dances in a variety of styles including Contemporary, Street and Hip Hop as well as Jazz. There is also a collaborative finale piece performed by a small number of students from each school and college involved.

The Three Degrees are an American female vocal group, formed in 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group has remained a trio with 2 original members since Sheila Ferguson left many moons ago.

A firm favourite with Prince Charles They sang at his 30th birthday party and were guests at his wedding to Princess Diana. The Three Degrees are well known for their soulful voices, beautiful gowns, and fabulous stage shows. In the 1975 release JAWS, it's a hot Independence Day holiday on Amity Island, a small community whose main business is its beaches. When new Sheriff Martin Brody discovers the remains of a shark attack victim, his first inclination is to close the beaches to swimmers.

Soon Quint, Brody and Matt Hooper from the Oceanographic Institute are at sea hunting the Great White Shark. As Brody succinctly surmises after their first encounter with the creature, they’re going to need a bigger boat.

2005 brought the reintroduction, after a 13 year absence, of the North West Festival of Remembrance. After the resounding success of this show, the Festival of Remembrance has been staged each November since then at The Stockport Plaza.

The concert will feature songs and big band numbers from the War periods and will include the standards and representatives from many of the services that saw conflict.
