Swansea City Supporters' Trust Programme Notes SWANSEA CITY SUPPORTERS’ TRUST PROGRAMME NOTES SHEFFIELD UNITED, 14 AUGUST 2021 Terry Sinnett writes……. ALL CHANGE! Welcome back Jack Army to the Liberty Stadium for our first home game of the season. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a large crowd at a game and everyone is looking forward to tonight’s game under the lights. July saw Steve Cooper and his coaching team depart the club. Reaching the play offs and the play off final in his two seasons was some achievement and the envy of many other clubs. We wish Steve and Co the very best in their future careers. Russell Martin has succeeded Steve and his arrival has stirred up plenty of excitement. His football philosophy promises a return to the famous ‘Swansea Way’ introduced by Roberto. Patience is the watchword, and everyone wishes Russell, the coaches and the team the very best for a successful season. We have also seen the departure of several players who have played major roles in our recent and not so recent past. Club legend Nathan Dyer has decided to hang up his boots. Nathan played a major role in getting us into and keeping us in the Premier League for 7 seasons. We wish Nathan all the very best for his future. We still await news about the future of another recent legend, Wayne Routledge. Andre Ayew, Marc Guehi, Freddie Woodman, Conor Hourihane, Keiron Freeman, Declan John and Barry McKay all departed. We thank them all for their efforts in our shirt and wish them well wherever life takes them. We have seen the arrival of Liam Walsh, Kyle Joseph, Joel Piroe and Jamie Paterson to the club – we welcome them as Jacks and look forward to seeing them doing their stuff on the field. As Russell Martin has indicated, the squad is in transition, and we look forward to seeing further additions to the squad before the end of this transfer window. July saw the Trust hold its annual election of board members. Long standing Supporter Director Stuart McDonald and last season’s chair Andy Godden decided not to stand for re-election. Both will continue to support the Trust going forward and we thank them for their unstinting work and service over many years. They will be missed but we move on. We have welcomed new board members Chris Golledge, Howard Corder, Carys Ingram, Nick Phillips and Howell Williams onto the team. The Trust has entered its 20th Anniversary year and membership renewal, or joining for the first time, can easily be done via our website here Join the Trust – Swansea City Supporters' Trust (swanstrust.co.uk) Join now and make us stronger! Saturday’s first game of the season at Blackburn resulted in a disappointing loss. Tonight, we welcome Sheffield United to the Liberty and hope to record our first league win of the season. It will be a tough game and in their ranks are 2 recent heroes of the Jack Army. Oli McBurnie and Rhian Brewster. Both did well in their time here. We wish them well, but not tonight! Enjoy the game. .

  • Derby County 1-5-2021
Match Day Programme Page v Derby County 1/5/2021 By Terry Sinnett, Swansea City Supporters’ Trust Sunday saw us secure our place in the Championship playoffs and we join all our fans in congratulating the players, Steve Cooper, his coaches and all the staff behind the scenes on this fine achievement. Our performances this season have fluctuated but it’s impossible not to recognise the tremendous job done given our clubs circumstances. We have reached the play offs for the second year running despite having one of the smallest squads in the league and working within a budget still reflecting the effects of our relegation from the Premier League. In this regard we were pleased to see the latest accounts reporting a pre-tax profit of £2.7m. Up to today’s game we have won more games, conceded fewer goals and amassed more points than we achieved in total last season. That is some progress and is despite enduring injuries to the likes of Liam Cullen, Wayne Routledge, Jordan Morris, Paul Arriola and Morgan Gibbs White – the last three resulting in their return to their parent clubs, further depleting the squad. A great achievement and one that we hope will see us win a return to the Premier League. For sure, the Jack Army will be right behind the boys until the final whistle blows on the season. Over the years, the power of the fans has led to many changes to our beloved game. We know full well here how the Jack Army saved this club and led to the foundation of the Trust, who continue to be the voice of the fans within our club.
