Commissioners represent diverse backgrounds and perspectives and come from the fields of veterinary medicine, agriculture, public health, business, government, rural advocacy, and animal welfare. Since its inception, the NCIFAP, in consultation with other national experts, has conducted assessments of the industry's impact on the public’s health, the environment, farm communities and animal health and well-being. The NCIFAP conducted public meetings around the country to gather information to produce specialized interim reports to help inform the commissioners and the public. Global Food Systems and Public Health: Production Methods and Animal Husbandry is one of the technical reports requested by the Commission and includes practical recommendations for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and the general public.
