Prayers of Reparation PRAYERS OF REPARATION An Act of Reparation to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Pope Pius VII granted an indulgence to everyone who, with contrition for his sins and with devotion, says the following Act of Reparation to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Jesus, my God, my Saviour, true God and true Man, with that most profound homage with which the faith itself inspires me, I adore and love Thee with my whole heart, enclosed in the most august Sacrament of the Altar, in reparation for all the acts of irreverence, profanation, and sacrilege, which I may ever have been so unhappy as to have committed, as well as for all such like acts that ever have been done, or which may be done, though God forbid they should be, in ages yet to come. I adore Thee, therefore, my God, not indeed as Thou deservest, nor as much as I am bound to adore, but as far as I am able; and I would that I could adore Thee with all the perfection of which all reasonable persons are capable. Meantime I purpose now and ever to adore Thee, not only for those Catholics who adore Thee not, and love Thee not, but also in the stead of, and for the conversion of all heretics, schismatics, impious atheists, blasphemers, impostors, Mahometans, Jews, and idolaters. Jesus, my God, mayest Thou be ever known, adored, loved, and praised every moment, in the most holy and divine Sacrament. Amen. I adore Thee every moment, O living Bread of Heaven, Great Sacrament! Jesus, Heart of Mary, I pray Thee send Thy blessing on my soul. Holiest Jesu! loving Saviour! I give Thee my heart. Pope Leo XII granted an indulgence to everyone who says the above Ejaculations with contrition, adding the following: May all know, adore, and praise every moment, always, the most holy and divine Sacrament. The Catholic Church’s: Litany of Reparation in Honour of the Blessed Sacrament Lord, have mercy on us; Lord, have mercy on us Christ, have mercy on us; Christ, have mercy on us Lord, have mercy on us; Lord, have mercy on us God the Father of Mercy, have mercy on us. God the Son, Mediator between God and man, have mercy on us. God the Holy Spirit, the Enlightener of hearts, have mercy on us. Holy and undivided Trinity, have mercy on us. O Sacred Host! Victim of reparation for the sins of the world, have mercy on us. O Sacred Host! Annihilated on the altar for us and by us, have mercy on us. O Sacred Host! Despised and neglected, have mercy on us. O Sacred Host! Neglected and abandoned in Thy temples, have mercy on us. Be merciful unto us: Spare us, O Lord. Be merciful unto us: Hear us, O Lord. For so many unworthy Communions, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For the irreverence of Christians, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For the continual blasphemies of the impious, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For the infamous discourses made in Thy Holy Temples, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For the crimes of sinners, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For the sacrileges which profane Thee sacrament of love, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For the coldness of the greater part of Thy children, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For their contempt of Thy loving invitations, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For the infidelity of those who call themselves Thy friends, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For the abuse of Thy grace, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For our unfaithfulness, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For our delay in loving Thee, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For our tepidity in Thy Holy Service, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For Thy bitter sadness at the loss of souls, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For Thy long waiting at the door of our hearts, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For Thy loving sighs, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For Thy loving tears, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For Thy loving imprisonment, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. For Thy loving death, We offer Thee our reparations, O Lord. That Thou wouldst spare us, that You hear us, We sinners beseech Thee, hear us. That You will make known Your love for us in this most Holy Sacrament, We sinners beseech Thee, hear us. That You will vouchsafe to accept our reparation, made in the spirit of humility, We sinners beseech Thee, hear us. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world: Spare us, O Lord. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world: Hear us, O Lord. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world: Have mercy on us, O Lord. Let us pray: Lord Jesus, Who has chosen to expose Thyself to all the outrages of the impious, rather than withdraw Thy Sacred Body from our Churches, grant us the grace to bewail, with true bitterness of heart, the injuries and sacrileges committed against Thee, and to repair as far as lies in our power, and with sincere love, the many ignominies and contempts Thou hast received, and still continue to receive, in this ineffable mystery, Who lives and reigns with God, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen. The Church’s: Prayer to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist, I adore Thee. Sweet Companion of our exile, I seek Thee. Holy God become man, I beat with Thy Heart. Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, solitary, abandoned, humiliated, cursed, despised, outraged, ignored by men, have mercy on us. Lover of our hearts, pleading for Thy beloved, patiently waiting for us, eager to hear our confidences, desirous of our devotion, have mercy on us. Heart of grace, silent and wishing to speak, Refuge of the hidden life, Sharer of the secrets of union with God, Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Jesus, Victim, I want to comfort Thee. I unite myself with Thee. I offer myself in union with Thee. I count myself as nothing before Thee. I desire to forget myself and think only of Thee, to be forgotten and rejected for love of Thee, not to be understood, not to be loved, except by Thee. I will hold my peace that I may listen to Thee. I will forsake myself in order to be lost in Thee. Grant that I may quench Thy thirst for my salvation, Your burning thirst for my sanctification, and that, being purged, I may give Thee a true and pure love. I no longer want to deny Your expectations. Take me. I give myself to Thee. I entrust to You all my actions and thoughts -- my mind, that You may enlighten it, my heart, that You may fill it, my will, that You may establish it, my soul and body, that You may feed and sustain them. Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, Whose Blood is the life of my soul, may it no longer be I who live, but You alone Who lives in me. Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy as given to St. Faustina! Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, of Thy Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world! For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world! Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world! PRAYERS GIVEN AT FATIMA Eucharistic Prayer MOST HOLY TRINITY, I adore Thee! My God, My God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament. (3 times) Pardon Prayer MY GOD, I believe, I adore, I trust, and I love Thee! I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust and do not love Thee. (3 times) Angel’s Prayer (Prayer of Reparation to the Most Holy Trinity) When the “Angel of Peace” appeared to the three children preceding Our Lady’s first appearance to them, he was "holding a Chalice in his hands, with a host above it from which some drops of blood were falling into the Sacred vessel." The Angel left the chalice and host suspended in the air and prostrated himself upon the ground with the children and prayed the following prayer with them three times: MOST Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference by which He is offended. And through the infinite merit of His Most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners. Amen. (3 times) The Angel then rose, and taking the host he gave it to Lucy, and to Jacinta and Francisco he gave the contents of the chalice, saying as he did so: "Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men. Repair their crimes and console your God." Then he prostrated himself once more with the children and repeated the prayer to the Most Holy Trinity three times, before disappearing. Eucharistic Miracle that Occurred at Fatima The Angel led the children to the Eucharist where they gained a great interior peace and happiness.

  • First Fridays and Eucharistic Adoration
First Fridays and Eucharistic Adoration Let us be generous with our time in going to meet him in adoration and in contemplation that is full of faith and ready to make reparation for the great faults and crimes of the world. May our adoration never cease.” – Pope John Paul II Why First Friday? In the seventeenth century, Jesus frequently appeared to St. Margaret Mary in France. One of the promises He revealed spoke of first Fridays: “In the excess of the mercy of my Heart, I promise you that my all powerful love will grant to all those who will receive Communion on the First Fridays, for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance: they will not die in my displeasure, nor without receiving the sacraments; and my Heart will be their secure refuge in that last hour.” Today, Holy Mass on First Friday is devoted to the Sacred Heart and to the Precious Blood of Jesus. The Eucharist is also taken to shut-ins on this day. Sources: Catholic Encyclopedia and The Catholicism Answer Book What is Eucharistic Adoration? After morning mass, the Eucharist is displayed on the altar in the monstrance. This Presence is honored by having at least one person remain in vigil while it is displayed. While adoration can occur with the Eucharist in the tabernacle, being able to see the Eucharist adds to the intimacy of this time. As the U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops notes, “Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament flows from the sacrifice of the Mass and serves to deepen our hunger for Communion with Christ and the rest of the Church.” The Saint John Paul II Eucharistic Adoration Association points out that this practice was expected to continue after Vatican II: “(In) Mysterium Fidei..
