The Loing and S eine rivers burst their banks and 4,000 people were evacuated from the town of Nemours. S ome areas reported the worst flooding seen in a century . The Emergency Management S ervice R isk & R ecovery activation ‘’EMS N-028 : Flood delineation and damage assessment, France’’ has been requested by the French authorities ILE-DE-FRANCE Lorrez-le-Bocage-Préaux in order to map flooding, infer maximum flooding and flood water depths, and assess the damages of the floods occurred over the S eine R iver located upstream to P aris, and its tributary the Loing R iver, from Fontainebleau to Montargis. D E N A N T E Map Production A U The present map shows the land use / land cover classes affected by the flood event of end May - beginning June 2016 within the maximum flood extent over the area of Lorrez-le- Bocage-P réaux (AOI12). S tatistics on the area (in hectare) of the land use / land cover classes per water depths are given in the associated report. N " The estimated thematic accuracy of the land use / land cover is 94%, based on internal 0 ' 2 validation procedures and visual interpretation of recognizable items on very high resolution 1 48°12'0"N Chaintreaux ° optical imagery . The estimated geometric accuracy of this product is 0.5 m, from native 8 4 positional accuracy of the background satellite image. Maximum flood extent and water depth information are simulated products. Therefore, their quality depends on the accuracy of the input data. S ome errors may subsist due to the presence of outliers. No damage on river banks and dikes has been identified, thus this lay er is not display ed in this map.
