M ARK , C ATONSVILLE , MD Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, In 1925, Pope Pius XI instituted the Solemnity of Christ the King to counteract both atheism and secularism. More recently, have we not heard or read statements from Pope Benedict XVI about both of those same ideologies? Disciples of Christ have been challenged by Christ to understand that He did not come on to establish an earthly kingdom but to infuse the citizens of this world with the Unconditional Love of His Father's Kingdom. Let us pray for ALL of the inhabitants of our world to find the peace that only God can provide! We might have various ideological and political differences among Americans. Tensions could possibly be part of a family's landscape. However, Thanksgiving is a National Day of thanking God for His many blessings and for ALL Americans to celebrate our freedoms, particularly Freedom of Religion, and to strengthen the bonds of family love. Have a Most Blessed Thanksgiving!!! Perhaps some of you missed last weekend's announcement concerning Fr. Tanghe's appointment as Interim Administrator of St. Paul's Parish in Ellicott City effective December 1. Please keep Father in your prayers as he will also be undergoing treatment for prostate cancer in the months to come. In Our Lord, Fr.
