ONOWAY REGIONAL FIRE SERVICE HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Our First-Year Statistics are In! North West Fire – Onoway (Operating as Onoway Regional Fire Services) - Canada’s first hybrid fire service combines the strength and competencies of a private full-service fire and safety company with the core-values and dedication of a community-based public volunteer / paid-on-call public fire department to deliver enhanced emergency 911 response within the budgets of smaller municipalities. Between our fulltime and career members and our paid-on-call friends, family, and neighbours our team is proud to report the following performance statistics for the calendar year 2016: 128 Emergency Call-Out Responses Average 7-Members on First Alarm Assignment – 24/7 3-Minute Average Chute Time (time from page unit first unit departs) – 24/7 8-Minutes Average Time to Scene From Page-Out (area wide – includes remote communities) In addition to our municipal fire, rescue, & medical response, we are proud to have helped out our friends and neighbours during this spring’s wildfire season including: Duffied / Paul Band Fires, Alexis Wildfire, and of course, battling “The Beast” in Fort McMurray. Onoway Regional Fire Services provides fire, rescue, and medical first response to the comminutes of Alberta Beach, Castle Island, Nakamun Park, Onoway, Silver Sands, Southview, Sunset Point, Val Quintin, Yellowstone. Additionally; we remain ready, willing, and able to support our friends at Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services, and partners Alberta Health Services, & Alberta Transportation should the request be made. We also advocate for an automatic aid agreement / dispatch protocol along provincial transportation corridors and elsewhere – to ensure emergency services are delivered on mass and without delay to all Albertans.
