Minute schoss ich das Siegtor zum 2:1 und feierte den Treffer mit einem Salto. Eine schönere Länderspiel-Premiere hätte ich mir zehn Jahre Nationalmannschaft geprägt. Und dann denke kaum vorstellen können. Zumal ich vier Tage später in Athen ich heute natürlich außerdem daran, dass das für mich dieses Erfolgserlebnis bestätigen konnte, denn 15 Minuten alles beim 1. FC Kaiserslautern anfing. Nach meiner Zeit nach meiner Einwechslung in das durch die Gelb-Rote Karte als Amateur bei meinem Heimatverein SG Blaubach- für Sebastian Deisler auf zehn Mann reduzierte Team erzielte Diedelkopf und einem Jahr beim FC Homburg begegnete ich die 3:2-Führung zum 4:2 gegen Griechenland.
