    BIO - Stephan Widmer OAM Stephan WIDMER was born in Switzerland and swam internationally for Switzerland for ten years. He completed a Masters of Science in Zürich, Switzerland with the intention of becoming a high performance swimming coach. In 2001 Stephan was appointed as a Coach at the Queensland Academy of Sport in Brisbane, Australia. Since then his swimmers have achieved 20 World Records, 3 Olympic Gold Medals and 16 World Championships Gold Medals. His coaching concept is based on a process driven and race pace specific training model, employing people management skills, exploring human behavior and a complex understanding of swimming techniques. Stephan understands the complexity of human limitations, both physically and mentally: what it takes to lead athletes to their true potential, how to find the key for their ability to break World Records, to win World Championships or reach the pinnacle of sport, an Olympic Gold medal. In 2010 his was awarded the Order of the Australian Medal by Queen Elizabeth II for his outstanding contribution to Swimming in Australia. His personal coaching Achievement: .     2009 RULES & REGULATIONS MAJOR LEGISLATION AND RULE CHANGES FOR 2009 1. Swimwear restrictions were put in place for those competing in 12 & under age group defined competition. 2. Meet information for sanctioned or approved competitions must state whether the pool has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). 3. A Short Course Junior Nationals will be held each winter. 4. Sexual misconduct provisions have been extended to include all members and/or non- members who are participating in any affairs or activities of USA Swimming or its LSCs. 5. The recruiting provision in the Code of Conduct has been expanded. 6. Part 4 has been rewritten to include LSC Hearings and Appeals. 7. Part 6 has been rewritten to include important information previously included only in the LSC Model Bylaws. DOPING CONTROL All athletes should check the status of all medications they plan to take PRIOR to taking them. This includes Over the Counter and Prescription medications. It is the responsibility of the athlete to ensure that no prohibited substance enters his/her system. The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) offers a Drug Reference Line (1-800-233-0393) and a Drug Reference Online (www.usantidoping.org/dro) where athletes, coaches, parents and medical professionals may check to ensure that proper documentation is on file for their medications and that they are consuming medications that are permitted. To comply with the World Anti-Doping Code, FINA, USOC and USADA have all amended their anti-doping rules.
