------RESPECT THE BUILDINGS AND CAMPUS OF CEPT - SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE, AHMEDABAD

The CEPT campus buildings designed by B.V.Doshi, are a significant institution and a reference for and schools of Architecture from around the planet. The School of Architecture buildings are as valuable as buildings that are 100 years old or more. Such buildings are respected and valued the World over. The spirit of freedom and openness that the Architecture of CEPT expresses has had a deep impress on generations of students, faculty and architects.

Architects understand that any growing institution needs to adapt and modify. Any expansion / modification should be entrusted to Prof. B.V.Doshi – the founding architect and undertaken with his consent.

This architecture has shaped & influenced many generations of architects whose work is valued, world over today - we shall not erase / modify any of the buildings, which mark a definitive moment of our modern architectural history and continue to remain a very relevant reference today.

Architects and artists, who have visited the campus have been moved by the experience and endorsed the architectural significance of this unique School of Architecture and the CEPT campus – Steven Holl, Juhani Pallasmaa, Rajeev Sethi, , James Stirling, Bhimsen Joshi, SANAA, , A Kanvinde and several others. A large group of architects, alumni and students appeal to respect the architecture of the CEPT campus.

We trust that this appeal will be considered by the Ahmedabad Education Society and the CEPT administration while decisions for the future development of the campus are taken.

Thank you
