8. MINING DETAILS
Opencast fully mechanized method of mining is being/will be done. All operations of mining are being/will be performed by deployment of Heavy Earth Moving Machineries for deep hole drilling, excavation, loading & transport. Various mining activities such as drilling, blasting, loading and transportation are/will be so conducted, as to ensure maximum mineral conservation and minimum environmental degradation. Excavated limestone is being/ will be transported to crusher (located at Plant Site) by dumpers and crushed limestone is being/will be transported to cement plant. 9. ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN
There is no major source of emissions except emission from combustion of fuels from the transportation vehicles & material handling. Besides, to further control the emissions regular preventive maintenance of equipment/ transportation vehicles is being/ will be carried out which also helps in reducing noise. Wet drilling, water sprinkling on haul roads is being/ will be done to arrest fugitive emissions. Waste dumping sites are being/ will be vegetated by suitable plantation.
Water used for washing of HEMM is being/ will be used for dust suppression in crusher after removal of oil and grease contents. Septic tanks & Soak pits have been provided for the disposal of waste water generated from mine office. No wastewater is being/will be discharged outside ML Area.
The main sources of noise are drilling, blasting, operation of HEMMs etc. Proper maintenance of HEMM help in reducing generation of noise. PPEs like helmets, safety shoes ear plugs& ear muffs have been/ will be provided to the working professionals.
