Biographical/Historical Sketch The Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts at Stanford University (formerly the Stanford Museum of Art) was heavily damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. With a new wing designed by Polshek & Partners, the Cantor Arts Center reopened in January 1999.
