    www.diplomacy.net.in NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DIPLOMACY New Delhi This website titled www.diplomcy.net.in is the official website of the National Institute of Diplomacy (NID) established in the year 1985 and inaugurated by the then Union Minister for External Affairs Shri Bali Ram Bhagat on 14 November 1985 on the auspicious occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the First Prime Minister of India. 1 The External Affairs Minister of India, Shri Bali Ram Bhagat inaugurating the National Institute of Diplomacy (NID) on 14 th November 1985. The main activities of National Institute of Diplomacy (NID) since its inception has been based on studies, training and research for understanding the relationships among all countries and the roles of the States, Inter-Governmental Organisations (IGOs), International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and the Multi-National Corporations (MNCs). The NID endorses the view that fields of Diplomacy as well as International Relations are both an Academic as well as a Public Policy field and can be either positive or normative as it both seeks to analyse and formulate the foreign policy of the particular country. According to the NID, the fields of Diplomacy and International Relations draw upon such diverse areas as economics, history, international law, philosophy, geography, social work, sociology, anthropology, criminology, psychology, women’s studies / gender studies, and cultural studies. They involve a diverse range of issues including globalisation, state sovereignty, international security, ecological sustainability, nuclear proliferation, nationalism, economic development, global finance, terrorism, organised crime, human security, foreign interventionism and human rights. The ability to practice diplomacy is one of the defining elements of a country.

However, the rise of Indian neoliberals and Hindu nationalists facilitated the progress in bilateral relations with Israel. In a short period, this bilateral relationship has become a strategic partnership in making. Notably, ties with Israel has received a new dynamics under the premiership of Narendra Modi. His government has overcome the past modicum of cautious and celebrated relations with Israel, both diplomatically and politically. This paper will examine India’s Israel policy from a historical perspective to explain why and how India maintained for an extended period limited relations with Israel and how the post-1990s new domestic dynamics facilitated the transformation of India’s Israel policy. CHANDRA SHEKHAR: A PROFILE Chandra Shekhar was one of the eminent and popular political leaders of India. The interest of the poor, the peasants, the landless, the working classes and their development always remained core to his heart. He was influenced by certain socialist leaders and ideas of socialism too. Having developed political interests since student days, he came into active politics under the advice and influence of his socialist mentor Acharya Narendra Deva. He began his Parliamentary career from Rajya Sabha where he remained a member for three terms. Afterwards he got elected to Lok Sabha where he remained a member for eight terms. Having an abiding faith in the rules and procedure of Parliament and respect for the decorum and discipline in the House, he earned the honour of an Outstanding Parliamentarian. His amiable disposition, command over various subjects and practical approach to national and international issues was appreciated from the different quarters in Parliament. With a long political record to his credit, he became the Prime Minister of India in 1990. As Prime Minister and a towering leader of the country, he left his mark as a statesman in various spheres of the country, though he remained in the same office for a short period. Chandra Shekhar articulated his ideas on diverse fields in Parliament through various devices of Parliamentary practice and procedures as well as through his own writings.

Monitoring Agency for the Project. 6th October, 2018. SUMMARY PROGRESS IN BRIEF 1. The total number of complaints received from the 15th June 2009 till 30th September, 2018 is 5530. Complaints received in this quarter are 415.During this quarter 141 cases were closed at the Monitoring Agency level to the satisfaction of the complainant. 6 cases were escalated to UGC. 43 cases were closed by UGC after following the due process. As of now 14 cases are pending with UGC. 2. Progress on development of data base of colleges is good. We have a data set of about 47982 colleges. Out of which we have E mail & phone numbers for roughly 29961 colleges. ___________________________________________________________________________ 1 Support Aman Movement For Eradication of Ragging. 1800 180 55 22 [email protected] 3. The campaign to register on line for affidavits is growing & going on strong. It will continue to grow in the future. As of now we have a data set of 5362412 students & E mail/Phone Contact data of 3334635 parents. 4. Progress on self declaration of “Compliance of Regulations” by Colleges/Universities is poor. So far – no work has been done in this regard. 5. Exceptionally high numbers of complaints continue to be received from Medical Colleges across the country. 52 complaints were received in this quarter alone. 6. On awareness the Trust has two dedicated internet lease lines that send 150000 e-mails per day to students & parents to create awareness against Ragging.
