Destillerie-Klassifizierungen 34 Destillerien wurden in den unterschiedlichen Kategorien klassifiziert (von Obstbrand über Whisky, Grappa bis zum Rum), dreizehn davon können sich über die Auszeichnung "World-Class Distillery", fünfzehn über "Master-Class Distillery" und sechs über über den Titel "First-Class Distillery" freuen. [email protected] W ORLD SPIRITS P RESSE by Wolfram Ortner Medaillen & Sortensieger Beim "World-Spirits Award 2008" nahmen 49 Teilnehmer aus 15 Nationen teil, wobei die Produktvielfalt von 304 Spirits vom Kaffee- und Zigarren-Destillaten über Gin, Whisky, Rum bis zu Obst-Spirituosen und 100-%-Destillaten reicht. Grundlage der Ergebnisse ist das speziell auf Spirituosen zugeschnittene WOB-100-Punkte-Bewertungssystem, Garant für eine objektive Beurteilung ist eine internationale Verkosterjury mit langjähriger Erfahrung. Auszeichnungen sind der Spiegel für die geleistete Arbeit der Brenner und die Anerkennung perfekter Produkte. Gemäß dem Slogan "Simply the best in Spirits" werden nur die besten Produkte zur Bewertung eingereicht und bringen die strenge Jury ins Schwärmen. 299 Medaillen wurden vergeben - Rudolf Gartner aus Südtirol glänzte wie ein Brenner eines anderen Sterns sogar mit Doppel-Gold & Spirit of the Year 2008, weitere 198 Gold-, 98 Silver- und 2 Bronze-Medaillen schmücken die Produkte der teilnehmenden Destillerien.
