However, the exact times, days, and destinations may vary for your group. Day 1 - Depart from New York and travel to northern Maine where dinner and overnight lodging have been arranged for you (pack an overnight bag). Day 2- Following breakfast, check out and travel towards Moncton. Youw il cross into Canada at Calais, ME (remember to change watches one hour ahead). Travel along the incredible Bay of Fundy as you head for Saint John, the largest city in the province of New Brunswick and the oldest incorporated city in Canada. There you will enjoy lunch and some sightseeing, including a visit to the famous Reversing Falls … a natural phenomenon where the high tides of the Bay of Fundy meet and overpower the St. John River and force it to reverse and flow back upstream. Enjoy a city tour of St. John, then check into your hotel in the area and enjoy a delicious dinner. Day 3 - Following breakfast, check out and depart for the ferry for your Bay of Fundy crossing to Digby, Nova Scotia. Then, travel along the Evangeline Trail to Grand Pre National Historical Site where the Memorial Church stands as a memorial to the Acadians and houses an exhibit on the deportation of these people. This story has been immortalized in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's epic poem, Evangeline, for which stands a statue in the middle of this 20-acre garden. Upon arrival in Halifax, visit the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, burial place of the Titanic victims. After checking into your hotel, enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by a restful evening. Day 4 - This morning you will depart for the picturesque village of Peggy's Cove where you will enjoy breakfast. Huge granite boulders are scattered throughout this quaint fishing village which makes this destination a well-known place for artists, photographers, and tourists. Peggy's Cove Light is an old lighthouse standing on a massive granite ledge and serves as Canada's only post office located in a lighthouse. In the afternoon you will enjoy a city tour of Halifax which will include the Citadel National Historic Site. This fort was completed in 1856 and stands as a reminder of Halifax's role as a key naval station in the British Empire. After your visit, depart for the Halifax Public Gardens, the oldest and finest formal Victorian garden in North America. This 17-acre garden began as a private garden in 1753 and was developed into its present layout in 1875. This evening enjoy another delicious dinner in Halifax. Day 5 - Enjoy breakfast, then check out and head towards Cape Breton Island for a two-night stay. Upon arrival in the area, you wil visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum which overlooks the Bras d'Or Lake. The complex features three exhibit halls and the largest collection of Bell's artifacts and inventions, including the replicas of the first telephones and a full scale model of the HD-4 hydrofoil craft. Tonight you will enjoy dinner at a popular restaurant in the area. Day 6 - After breakfast, you will explore one of nature's magnificent regions, the stunning Cabot Trail, which was named for famous explorer John Cabot. The Trail winds around the rocky splendor of Cape Breton's northern shore, ascending to the incredible plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The highway is carved into the sides of mountains that rise high above the shimmering waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Lookouts offer unforgettable vistas of the rugged coastline where pods of whales can often be seen just offshore and bald eagles soar aloft on the ocean breezes. Your day will end with dinner at the hotel. Day 7 - Following breakfast, check out and depart for Prince Edward Island. Board the ferry to cross the Northumberland Strait into Canada's smallest province. Upon arrival, head for Charlottetown for a city tour. After the tour, check into your hotel and enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by an evening of entertainment featuring the music of Nova Scotia. Day 8 - Enjoy breakfast, then depart on a tour of Prince Edward Island which will include a visit to the legendary home of Anne of Green Gables. This famous novel was written by native Lucy Maud Montgomery. You will also visit the PEI Preserve Company where you will smell and taste Canada's finest preserves while being prepared. A delicious lobster dinner will end your day. Day 9 - After breakfast, check out and travel across the Confederation Bridge into New Brunswick to visit Hopewell Rocks where 50-feet tides have carved the world’s largest “flowerpots” out of the cliffs. Later, visit the Fundy National Park en route back to Saint John where dinner and lodging have been arranged for you this evening. Day 10 - Following breakfast, check out and travel back into Maine for dinner and overnight lodging (pack an overnight bag). Day 11 - Enjoy breakfast, then check out and bid farewell to the Canadian Maritimes as you depart for home with lasting memories.
