The Company’s key operational strategies include: (1) Business strategy The Company formulates its business strategy as a framework to deliver products and services in response to customer demand, enhancing competitive advantage and sustainable growth. Core Services Broadcast Service: The Company values the importance of developing our broadcast service to advance the Thai broadcast industry by offering state-of-the-art solutions to support high definition and ultra-high definition broadcasting as well as value-added services to enhance the capabilities of satellite TV operators and deliver a quality viewing experience to people across Thailand. Moreover, the company plans to expand our broadcast services in emerging markets, especially in Greater Mekong Subregion and South Asia, focusing on high quality and high power Direct-to-Home (DTH) broadcasting service to serve regional demands. Broadband Service: The Company values the importance of enhancing bandwidth efficiency on both the IPSTAR platform and business partners’ platforms to increase the bandwidth utilization of THAICOM 4 (IPSTAR), especially in Thailand, India, and the Philippines. The Company is also diversifying its broadband business from wholesale into retail in potential markets where the Company has a competitive advantage, such as in Australia and New Zealand. 2. Strategy for Innovative Services The Company aims to develop new businesses that respond to current consumer behavior which demands accessibility to content and information anytime, anywhere and on any device. The company aims to create communication platforms at the consumer level (i.e. B2C) rather than focusing only on business customers (i.e. B2B). The platforms leverage satellite’s unique ability to reach users anytime and anywhere while integrating the internet and applications with value-added services to meet customers’ needs. For example, the LOOX TV Application Platform allows people to access TV content on both TV and on mobile devices, and the Mobility Platform provides connectivity at sea (maritime service) and in the air (in-flight connectivity). 3. Business Diversification The Company places importance on both vertical and horizontal business expansion on a regional scale. Vertically, the Company is to expend its services downstream in the value chain through areas such as retail broadband internet and maritime services. Horizontally, the Company will focus on satellite-related businesses, such as digital platforms for broadcast content, as well as businesses with high potential to substitute services in the value chain. The Company has established this business expansion plan in both dimensions to enhance its competitiveness and ensure sustainable growth. (2) Human resources strategy The Company is a Thai company that operates primarily in Thailand and strives to act and grow sustainably. We strongly believe that human resources are our most valuable asset and the key indicator of our competitive advantage. The role our employees play in the organization is even more important now in our drive towards sustainable growth and success. Our goal is to strengthen employee engagement, competency, and business ethics in order to leverage staff capabilities, drive business growth, and enhance competitiveness. We aim to recruit, retain, motivate, and develop the most talented people we can find.     - Translation – TC-CP 020/2020 12 November 2020 Subject: Clarification on the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society’s demand regarding Thaicom 5 To: The President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Reference is made to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES)’s demand that the Company build and transfer the ownership of a new satellite to replace Thaicom 5 or otherwise pay MDES compensation in an amount equal to the price of a new satellite, which has resulted in a dispute to be resolved by arbitration. Thaicom Public Company Limited (the “Company”) would like to clarify that the Company has already fulfilled its obligation to launch satellites as required by the terms of the Concession. Therefore, the Company has no obligation to build a new satellite to replace Thaicom 5 as demanded by MDES. In addition, currently there are still two other satellites, i.e. Thaicom 4 and Thaicom 6, in operation, the ownership of which the Company has transferred to MDES. The operational life of the two satellites is also beyond the term of the Concession, and MDES has the right to manage the two satellites thereafter. The Concession was entered into nearly 30 years ago, with the parties agreeing to the terms regarding the work plan and principles for contract implementation which reflected the plan which had been proposed by the Company and approved by MDES. The focus was on the continuity of satellite service throughout the term of the Concession. The work plan, which forms part of the Concession, states that the Company will build 2 generations of satellites, with a total of 4 satellites.

A satellite is any object, man-made or natural, that orbits the Earth. In the context of spaceflight, a satellite is an object which has been placed into orbit by human endeavor. Such objects are sometimes called artificial satellites to distinguish them from natural satellites such as the Moon. System defined according to the Oxford English Dictionary [1]. A set of connected things or parts that form a whole or work together 11.2 MALAYSIA EAST ASIA SATELLITE PROJECT (MEASAT) MEASAT (Malaysia East Asia Satellite) is the name of a line of Malaysian communications satellites owned and operated by MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. (formerly Binariang Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd.). In 2006, the MEASAT satellite network consists of three geostationary satellites designed and built by Boeing Satellite Development Center (formerly Boeing Satellite Systems). MEASAT-1 and MEASAT-2 were launched in 1996 and MEASAT-3 in 2006[2]. The MEASAT-1 and 2 satellites were designed to provide 12 years of both direct to user television service in Malaysia and general communications services in the region from Malaysia to the Philippines and from Beijing to Indonesia. With the launch of Malaysian Satellite System 125 MEASAT-3, the coverage extends to 70% of the world’s population [2]. With the two high-powered Boeing 376HP communications satellites provided regional C-Band coverage and pioneered the use of Ku-Band in the high rain fall South East Asia region.

    Ariane 5 lifts record payload into space 11 August 2005 This morning (Aug.11) an Ariane 5G launcher lifted off from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. On board was the largest telecommunications satellite ever to be placed into geostationary transfer orbit. The mission was initially delayed during the two- hour-long launch window to verify telemetry readings from Ariane 5's mobile launch table, and the countdown subsequently resumed for an early morning takeoff from the ELA-3 launch zone. The heavyweight THAICOM 4 (IPSTAR) satellite had a lift-off mass of almost 6500 kg. Before this morning’s launch, the record for the heaviest telecommunications satellite to be placed into orbit belonged to the Anik F2 satellite, launched by an Ariane 5 launcher in July 2004. THAICOM 4, built for Shin Satellite Plc of Thailand, will provide businesses and consumers throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand with various levels of Internet access services. The satellite has a total data throughput capacity of over 45 Gbps. This is the fourth Shin Satellite to be launched by an Ariane vehicle. An Ariane 4 vehicle launched the first satellite in 1993. The next launch to take place from Europe’s Spaceport will be Flight 168, an Ariane 5G dual launch mission scheduled for 29 September. Now that the Company has been awarded a license for Thaicom 8 by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), we can proceed, and we expect to launch Thaicom 8 within the first half of 2016. THAICOM 8 will support the growth of Thailand’s broadcasting industry and provide adequate capacity to serve the HDTV trend. The satellite will also allow us to meet the Ultra-HD demands for Thailand and the international market expected in the future.” Thaicom 8 will expand Thaicom’s existing fleet of Thaicom 5 and 6 positioned at the 78.5 degrees East orbital slot, while Thaicom 7, to be launched in mid-2014, will be positioned at 120 degrees East.     Foreword from the Secretary of Commerce As the United States seeks opportunities to expand our economy, commercial use of space resources continues to increase in importance. The use of space as a platform for increasing the benefits of our technological evolution continues to increase in a way that profoundly affects us all. Whether we use these resources to synchronize communications networks, to improve agriculture through precision farming assisted by imagery and positioning data from satellites, or to receive entertainment from direct-to-home satellite transmissions, commercial space is an increasingly large and important part of our economy and our information infrastructure. Once dominated by government investment, commercial interests play an increasing role in the space industry. As the voice of industry within the U.S. Government, the Department of Commerce plays a critical role in commercial space. Through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Department of Commerce licenses the operation of commercial remote sensing satellites. Through the International Trade Administration, the Department of Commerce seeks to improve U.S. industrial exports in the global space market. Through the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, the Department of Commerce assists in the coordination of the radio spectrum used by satellites. And, through the Technology Administration's Office of Space Commercialization, the Department of Commerce plays a central role in the management of the Global Positioning System and advocates the views of industry within U.S. Government policy making processes.
