Alias Episode Guide Season 5 Alias episode guide season 5 Continue This is a summary of Alias Season 5, divided into an episode of the team. (OAD means original air date.) Season 5: Episode 1 of Prophet Five (OAD: 9/29/2005) Sydney regains consciousness after a car accident and instinctively suspects the motives of the paramedics. When a man tries to introduce her tranquilizer, she shrugs it off and eludes other medics. Hiding in a cornfield, she sees Vaughn through the air in an unmarked helicopter. Later, when doctors assess Sid, she meets Gordon Dean of the Office of Special Investigations, who grilled her about Vaughn's whereabouts and activities. Jack explains that Vaughn is suspected of being a double agent, and the car accident was actually prey. A bloodied Vaughn, called Mr. Michaud, received a strip of paper with coded numbers. When Vaughn denies knowing anything about the mysterious sheet, a man named Curtis threatens to cut off the girl's finger. Vaughn agrees to cooperate and asks for a pencil. Before Vaughn can write, however, he asks that his dislocated shoulder pop out in place. When Curtis accommodates him, he beats Curtis and makes his escape. He contacts Sidney and asks her to trust him - and bring his father's watch when they meet. At APO Dixon says the troubled Syd give Vaughn the benefit of the doubt - as Dixon did for her years ago when he first realized they were working on the SD-6. Meanwhile, Gordon Dean instructs Marshall to pull out Vaughn's files. When Sidney arrives in Rome, Vaughn explains that his real name is Andre Michaud, and his father was a mathematician involved in a secret project called Prophet Five. He gleaned this information seven years ago from a woman named Rene Renen and has been working with her ever since. They meet James Lehman, a friend of Vaughn's father. Lehman explains that brilliant scientists and linguists were recruited for the prophet five in the 70s and asked to break the code of a 500-year-old paper on advanced genetics. After the group succeeded, its members were systematically killed. As a precaution, Vaughn's father changed his identity, as did Lehman. He warns that the killers are merciless. He tells them about the location of a book containing more information from the Prophet of the Five. In Cape Town, South Africa, Sydney and Vaughn, posing as a French couple, attending a party in the mansion, unsuccessfully trying to steal a book from a home vault. When they run to the rock, Sidney receives a phone call from her doctor, who tells her that she is pregnant. Sydney shares good news with Vaughn, who has a muted reaction. They're jumping. Meanwhile, Sloan scours medical records in prison, desperately trying to find a cure for Nadia, who is still in a coma after being subjected to Rambaldi's device. He denies knowing anything about Vaughn's betrayal of Jack, but says that Renee Riten, a former CIA agent, may be a possible hook. As and Vaughn sit in car waiting for Lehman, they talk about her pregnancy. Vaughn says his initial hesitation was due to the complex world in which they live, but he can't wait to be a father. Seeing Lehman in the distance, Vaughn jumps out. Suddenly another car passes by - Gordon Dean goes out with Curtis and both go to Lehman and Vaughn. They fall into a hail of bullets. While waiting in intensive care, Sid tells Jack that she will stand next to The Thine. As Jack reprimands her, Sydney reveals her pregnancy. Jack relents. Later, he goes to the APO and instructs the team to explore the Prophet Five and get records in Cape Town. Later, when Sid looks after Vaughn, he flat lines. Sid is furious as doctors work for him to no avail. He's slipping away. After Vaughn's funeral, Sid goes to a shady London bar, where she talks to a bartender. After an initial denial, the bartender admits she is Renee Renn. Season 5: Episode 2 - ... 1... (OAD: 10/06/2005) In a run-down London bar, Renee tells Sydney that the people who killed Vaughn own the bar where she works, and their operations center is downstairs. Renee adds that since Sydney blew the cap on Renee while she was there, she might as well get what data she could from the servers below. Sydney insists on joining her. Sydney and Renee breach an underground communications centre. They fight the guards in a failed attempt to recover data from self-destructing computers. Sydney grabs a hard CCTV drive behind the panel and they escape. Despite Renee's indecision, Sidney convinces her to take the phone so they can be in touch. Sid then goes to Marshall to help her collect information from the stolen hard drive. Sid meets with her obstetrician for her first ultrasound. Sydney sees her baby for the first time and becomes emotional, especially after realizing that she is alone. At the APO office, the team watches video footage that includes Ivan Curtis, the man who killed Vaughn. Jack explains that Curtis was recorded dead three years ago, contradicting the date on the video. Jack concludes that Curtis and Dean have access to high-level resources. Later, Sidney calls Marshall to zoom in on the video, where Curtis dials his phone number. They learned that Curtis was going to meet Heinrich Romero regarding the package. Sid visits Sloan in his prison cell and asks about Romer's whereabouts, as SD-6 has worked with Romer in the past. When Sloan advises her not to act out of revenge, Sidney notes that what she does is for her safety and her child. In Amsterdam, Dixon and Weiss meet Romero for a business deal. With Sydney on CCTV, Dixon plants cameras in the building. Suddenly, Sidney sees Curtis getting out of the car that has just arrived at the facility. Romer leaves Weiss to meet Curtis in another room. Curtis shoots Romer and leaves off Hearing Hearing Weiss defends himself when the guard attacks. Dixon runs to Weiss's aid, and Sidney gets into Curtis' car. Curtis finds Sid waiting for him, with a gun pointed at his head. In the safe house of the CIA Dixon and Sidney interrogate Curtis. In another room, the team consults with Marshall, who warns that Nuridi, whom Curtis already possesses in addition to recovering, could create an explosion fifty times greater than Hiroshima. They decide that Curtis needs to be let go so he can lead them to the rest of Nuridium. Dixon returns to Curtis, hands him a bottle of water and tries to get him to reveal where the rest of Nuridium is. Curtis drinks water and asks for immunity from his illegal business activities, as well as for the murder of Vaughn. When Curtis insults Sidney, she kicks him out of the window into the canal. Sid and Dixon watch as he escapes, tracking the serum in his system from drinking water. When Jack meets Thomas Grace, the new agent he recruits for APO, Sidney and Weiss wait for a signal from the serum tracking. Weiss admits in Sydney that he is considering a position in Washington, and Sydney expresses his happiness. When Weiss voices her indecision to leave because of recent events in Sydney life, she insists that he should leave. Suddenly, Sydney laptop beeps: Curtis in the air, heading to North Korea. Using an invisible plane, the APO team approaches Curtis' private jet and sits silently. Dixon and Weiss head to the passenger deck while Sydney remains in stock to dismantle what looks like a Nuridium bomb. Sydney realizes that the container is not a bomb when she finds the body inside. Curtis appears and points a gun at her. Sid threatens to cut The Nuridium's wires. On the upper deck, Dixon, Weiss and Curtis opened up to each other. The pilot fired in the crossfire and the plane abruptly knocked Curtis to the ground. Sydney grabs a gun and points at him. When Dixon regains control of the plane, Sidney asks Curtis more questions about the Prophet of the Five, offering to protect him from information. Curtis refuses to help because he is afraid of the group he works for. He pulls out the release button of the cargo door and is thrown out of the plane. Back at the APO office, Jack tells the team that Nuridium was not for explosives - it was going to be used to power an advanced cryogenic chamber. The body found by them remains unidentified, but is being analyzed by the SRC. When everyone leaves the briefing room, Sidney tells Jack that she can't go on alone and tells him about her ultrasound. Jack calms her down by saying: I'm here. Grateful Sidney invites his father to the next appointment to the doctor. A few minutes later, as Weiss and Sydney say goodbye, Dixon arrives and announces that the body has been stolen from DSR. calls Renee Renen and shares Information. Renee tells her she'll see what she can find out. When Renee crosses the room, she walks past an open container - with the missing body inside, alive. Season 5: Episode 3 - Shed (OAD: 10/13/2005) A woman arrives at a secure laboratory in Istanbul, where scientists in protective suits are experimenting with a liquid substance. She shoots the guard and punches the code to enter the lab. Holding the scientists under the gun, she steals two vials and breaks the third, before locking the guards and escape.

  • Alias Manager 4
CHAPTER 4 Alias Manager 4 This chapter describes how your application can use the Alias Manager to establish and resolve alias records, which are data structures that describe file system objects (that is, files, directories, and volumes). You create an alias record to take a “fingerprint” of a file system object, usually a file, that you might need to locate again later. You can store the alias record, instead of a file system specification, and then let the Alias Manager find the file again when it’s needed. The Alias Manager contains algorithms for locating files that have been moved, renamed, copied, or restored from backup. Note The Alias Manager lets you manage alias records. It does not directly manipulate Finder aliases, which the user creates and manages through the Finder. The chapter “Finder Interface” in Inside Macintosh: Macintosh Toolbox Essentials describes Finder aliases and ways to accommodate them in your application. ◆ The Alias Manager is available only in system software version 7.0 or later. Use the Gestalt function, described in the chapter “Gestalt Manager” of Inside Macintosh: Operating System Utilities, to determine whether the Alias Manager is present. Read this chapter if you want your application to create and resolve alias records. You might store an alias record, for example, to identify a customized dictionary from within a word-processing document. When the user runs a spelling checker on the document, your application can ask the Alias Manager to resolve the record to find the correct dictionary. 4 To use this chapter, you should be familiar with the File Manager’s conventions for Alias Manager identifying files, directories, and volumes, as described in the chapter “Introduction to File Management” in this book.

Mickiewicza 30, 30-059 Krakow, Poland; [email protected] (N.B.); [email protected] (K.K.); [email protected] (M.R.O.) * Correspondence: [email protected] Abstract: In recent years, blockchains systems have seen massive adoption in retail and enterprise environments. Cryptocurrencies become more widely adopted, and many online businesses have decided to add the most popular ones, like Bitcoin or Ethereum, next to Visa or Mastercard payments. Due to the decentralized nature of blockchain-based systems, there is no possible way to revert confirmed transactions. It may result in losses caused by human error or poor design of the user interface. We created a cryptocurrency wallet with a full on-chain solution for aliasing accounts and tokens to improve user experience and avoid unnecessary errors. The aliasing system consists of a number of smart contracts deployed on top of the blockchain network that give the ability to register aliases to accounts and tokens and use them instead of opaque addresses. Our solution shows how performant modern blockchains are and presents a way of building fully decentralized applications that can compete with centralized ones in terms of performance. Virtual Reality System for Neuroscience Research Now researchers can take experimental investigations of emotion and attention to the next level with aLIAS: A Lifelike Immersive Affective Stimulation System. Developed in partnership with WorldViz, the aLIAS package is a plug-and-play system designed to work seamlessly with the latest HMD technology from Oculus* to create a sophisticated stimulation solution that is truly budget friendly. *Oculus Rift sold separately Inducing an emotional state in laboratory settings requires researchers to use various techniques approximating the immersion of the participant in a real-life situation. Such techniques could involve reading stories, looking at pictures and videos or using actors. These methodologies suffer, in various degrees, from limitations in ecological validity and/or experimental control. BIOPAC and WorldViz have developed a virtual reality based stimulation protocol that aims to deliver lifelike stimulation while maintaining very high experimental control. A collection of stimulation scenarios has been created and is constantly augmented; it is designed so that researchers can expand it easily. Physiological data can be recorded throughout the experiment and markers for events and conditions are automatically added to the physiological data record over the network. The physiological data is recorded using the wireless BioNomadix and MP150 system with AcqKnowledge and Network Data Transfer. aLIAS: Complete Researcher Control, Ready-to-Run Scenarios, Fully Customizable aLIAS allows Oculus Rift users to adjust the order of the stimulation, control the inter stimulus interval and ambient sound and other sound effects without the need for programming. • Gender Politics and Social Class in Atwood's Alias Grace Through a Lens of Pronominal Reference
European Scientific Journal December 2018 edition Vol.14, No.35 ISSN: 1857 – 7881 (Print) e - ISSN 1857- 7431 Gender Politics and Social Class in Atwood’s Alias Grace Through a Lens of Pronominal Reference Prof. Claudia Monacelli (PhD) Faculty of Interpreting and Translation, UNINT University, Rome, Italy Doi:10.19044/esj.2018.v14n35p150 URL:http://dx.doi.org/10.19044/esj.2018.v14n35p150 Abstract In 1843, a 16-year-old Canadian housemaid named Grace Marks was tried for the murder of her employer and his mistress. The jury delivered a guilty verdict and the trial made headlines throughout the world. Nevertheless, opinion remained resolutely divided about Marks in terms of considering her a scorned woman who had taken out her rage on two, innocent victims, or an unwitting victim herself, implicated in a crime she was too young to understand. In 1996 Canadian author Margaret Atwood reconstructs Grace’s story in her novel Alias Grace. Our analysis probes the story of Grace Marks as it appears in the Canadian television miniseries Alias Grace, consisting of 6 episodes, directed by Mary Harron and based on Margaret Atwood’s novel, adapted by Sarah Polley. The series premiered on CBC on 25 September 2017 and also appeared on Netflix on 3 November 2017. We apply a qualitative (corpus-driven) and qualitative (discourse analytical) approach to examine pronominal reference for what it might reveal about the gender politics and social class in the language of the miniseries. Findings reveal pronouns ‘I’, ‘their’, and ‘he’ in episode 5 of the miniseries highly correlate with both the distinction of gender and social class.
