  • Blockchain-Based Address Alias System
Article Blockchain-Based Address Alias System Norbert Bodziony , Paweł Jemioło * , Krzysztof Kluza and Marek R. Ogiela AGH University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering, al. A. Mickiewicza 30, 30-059 Krakow, Poland; [email protected] (N.B.); [email protected] (K.K.); [email protected] (M.R.O.) * Correspondence: [email protected] Abstract: In recent years, blockchains systems have seen massive adoption in retail and enterprise environments. Cryptocurrencies become more widely adopted, and many online businesses have decided to add the most popular ones, like Bitcoin or Ethereum, next to Visa or Mastercard payments. Due to the decentralized nature of blockchain-based systems, there is no possible way to revert confirmed transactions. It may result in losses caused by human error or poor design of the user interface. We created a cryptocurrency wallet with a full on-chain solution for aliasing accounts and tokens to improve user experience and avoid unnecessary errors. The aliasing system consists of a number of smart contracts deployed on top of the blockchain network that give the ability to register aliases to accounts and tokens and use them instead of opaque addresses. Our solution shows how performant modern blockchains are and presents a way of building fully decentralized applications that can compete with centralized ones in terms of performance. Keywords: blockchain; cryptocurrency; wallet; aliasing system; Solana Citation: Bodziony, N.; Jemioło, P.; 1. Introduction Kluza, K.; Ogiela, M.R. An alias should be treated as a property of a screen and can act as a stand-in for a tag. The alias can be used to reference a tag wherever that tag can be referenced directly. When used, iX Developer will act the same as if the original tag had been used. Each screen using aliases can be configured with a different instance with different tag references. Using aliases will enable reuse of screens without having to create a new duplicated screen. • The Earliest Generations of the Goetbloet Alias Bloetgoet Family,” New Netherland Connections 12 (2007): 12-15
The following pages are a preprint edition of: John Blythe Dobson, “The earliest generations of the Goetbloet alias Bloetgoet family,” New Netherland Connections 12 (2007): 12-15. The earliest generations of the Goetbloet alias Bloetgoet family by John Blythe Dobson In 1917, Mrs. Annie Bloodgood Parker published a brief account of the parentage of the New Nether- land immigrant Frans Janszen Bloetgoet.1 Considering the very limited material then accessible, this article accomplished its purpose quite well, and apart from a few minor misprints is essentially not in need of correction. As Parker notes, the Gouda baptismal register for 1575-1625 is unfortunately lost; and indeed, her sole source is the marriage register of the Dutch Reformed Church of Gouda. For those records, I have tentatively accepted her readings, although there is one small point of doubt (discussed below) which should be cleared up if it has not been already.2 I cannot claim to have made a thorough search of the existing literature on this family, and were there any likelihood of my finding time to do so in the foreseeable future I should never have considered publishing these remarks in so rough a state. The purpose of this note is merely to supplement Parker’s account with material from some recently-indexed records, and to suggest some possibilities for further research. Before proceeding with a revision of Parker’s account, I should like to point out that the name Bloetgoet is extremely rare, and before the end of the seventeenth century, at least, seems to have been confined almost exclusively to the provinces of North and South Holland.

  • Photomonth Krakow: Alias
Photomonth Krakow: Alias By! Laura McLean-Ferris !‘Could it think, the heart would stop beating.’ Fernando Pessoa’s words are used, rather curiously, as an epigraph to the publication Alias, a set of texts that provided the backbone for a recent project of the same name, curated by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin for Krakow Photomonth. Pessoa’s words were, in fact, published under the name Bernardo Soares, one of the poet’s many heteronyms (these are rather more than pseudonyms, being developed characters). Soares’s character is that of a melancholic, thoughtful accountant, who (in Pessoa’s fabricated story) he often saw hunched over, dining in the same unremarkable restaurant: ‘In his pale, uninteresting face there was a look of suffering that didn’t add any interest’. !It’s a set of heteronyms, in fact, who created artworks for Alias. Broomberg and Chanarin commissioned 23 writers to anonymously create texts which described invented personas that were then assigned to 23 artists, so that they might inhabit the roles and make work, anonymously, on the heteronym's behalf. Artists and writers included in the project included Johan Grimonprez, Brian Dillon, Roe Ethridge, Jennifer Higgie, Rut Blees Luxemburg and Alex Soth.!As a viewing experience, particularly solo in the pretty town of Krakow, I found this a singular and absorbing way to look at art. In between following the Photomonth map around the city and discovering the venues (a mix of galleries and found spaces, each very well marked with the project’s distinctive posters, a monochrome face partially obscured by a red circle), I read the writer’s stories in cafés and restaurants, absorbing narrative and character as one might research an artist’s previous work before visiting an exhibition.
