6 A LETTER FROM THE SPONSORS’ BOARD CHAIRMAN

Dear Sponsors, am pleased to report that 2007 was another record-breaking year for the National FFA Foundation. On behalf of I myself and the 2007 Foundation Sponsors’ Board, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to you, our corporate sponsors and individual contributors, as well as the entire foundation staff, as we were able to raise more than $13 million to ensure that the legacy of the “Blue and Gold” continues to prosper! Your contributions provide critical funding to sustain the personal and professional development of young men and women, thus allowing them to develop valuable leadership skills necessary in realizing their career goals. It is tremendously gratifying to see sponsors, volunteers, educators, and state and national FFA staff working together to ensure that each member has the opportunity to realize true leadership, personal growth and career success through their involvement in FFA and agricultural education. This year our theme is, “Blue Jackets, Bright Futures.” To me, it serves as a reminder that, since its inception more than 75 years ago, the revered blue jacket represents the common bond of agriculture we all share, the standard of excellence to which we hold ourselves and the bright future that is attained through membership in FFA. FFA reflects the diversity of our industry and of our youth — and the future remains bright. Today, FFA membership is at a 29-year high, with more than 500,000 members in 7,358 programs across the country. In 2007, a major initiative was launched to prepare plans to expand agricultural education and FFA to 10,000 quality programs by 2015. This initiative will provide opportunities for thousands more to experience what FFA and agricultural education have to offer. It will also mean that we will need your continued support and the support of new sponsors and contributors to help make this dream a reality. I know that by working together we will rise to the occasion. During these past four years as a Sponsors’ Board member, I have had the opportunity to work with scores of sponsors and visit with hundreds of FFA members, seeing their excitement, passion and hope for the future. I can tell you that every single FFA member I have met is fully aware and deeply appreciative of the incredible support the organization receives from its sponsors. Thanks again for your generosity, and I hope you will continue your support in the future. You are truly making a positive difference in the lives of these young men and women, and in the future of agriculture. Sincerely, Glenn A. Stith Glenn A. Thanks to the support from 4 Motorbooks founding partners John Deere, Monsanto, National Pork Board, Chevrolet and International Cargill, as well as Merial as a supporting partner, the LifeKnowledge Center for Agricultural Education is setting the stage to develop new and exciting tools. 4 Motorhead Products In 2007 LifeKnowledge® Online was successfully launched, including 257 Lesson Plans, 30 E-Moments and 2,100 Integration Ideas. Because of 1 Mr. Funnell, Inc. continued sponsorship dollars, the addition of the Integration Ideas, 1 Mt. Olive Pickle Co. Coaching Guide and Precept Indicator tools, which became available online, were made possible. 1 Multi-Phase Enterprise “I use LK throughout my curriculum, teaching agriscience and agribusiness; LLC once I learned how to go through and do my own plan and save the lessons with the integration tool, I use LK much more,” said Alice Dubois, agriculture 37 National Rural Electric educator at Ponchatoula High School in Ponchatoula, La. Once you use it Cooperative Association [LifeKnowledge], you see how it engages the students and brings so much more into a lesson; whether I’m teaching livestock or leadership, LK builds 1 Nature’s Broom character into the kids,” Dubois said. “We want students to leave our program 1 Nature’s Earth Products as caring citizens, capable to carry on and lead society with character and Inc. integrity. I see LK actively building those attributes in my students; I want to use it all the time.” 1 ND Industries, Inc. Wes Crawford, an agriculture teacher at Sutherlin High School in Sutherlin, Ore., has had great experiences with the Precept Indicator. This tool assesses 1 Neighsayers students on 15 precepts, allowing them to be assigned a pre-test and post-test 1 New Age International LTD that evaluates them on a pre-awareness to a mastery stage for each. “It is hard to assess students in areas of vision, professional growth and other 2 New Ray Toys intangible precepts. The LK indicator is unique in that it is one of the few formal assessments of its kind that I am aware of,” Crawford said. “By using 1 Nitri-Vet the indicator, I was able to tailor the curriculum to the needs of the class. The 3 Noble Popcorn indicator tool allows teachers to know what areas your students aren’t strong in. Why waste time on concepts and skills your students have already mastered?” 3 Nord Farms With continued support, the LifeKnowledge Center plans to add even more valuable educational tools, including the Precept Indicator broken down into 1 Norscot Group Inc. individual precepts; PowerPoint presentations corresponding with the original lessons and self-paced student modules.

A LETTER FROM THE INDIVIDUAL GIVING COUNCIL CHAIRMAN

t has been my pleasure to be a part of the National FFA Foundation and its efforts to offer more individuals an Iopportunity to support the exceptional educational and leadership experiences of FFA members. Corporate America has long been the foundation of these efforts. There are many people who know that FFA has helped develop millions of students and want to be a part of changing lives. In 2007, I was asked to serve as the first chairman of the Individual Giving Council. Our charge is to invite individuals to contribute to FFA. A very committed and visionary group of leaders agreed to join me in this effort, and I am grateful to be able to work with them. My personal thanks go out to them for the time, talent and dedication they contributed to the formation of this council, as well as to the tireless Foundation staff. I am pleased to report that in 2007 we experienced a 27% increase in individual giving over 2006. These contributions supported scholarships, proficiencies, career development events and other core programs like The Stars Over America program. Growth like this testifies to the generosity of those who know and appreciate all that FFA offers. I believe that individual support is crucial to building a future that provides a new generation of young people prepared to lead in a rapidly changing world. The 2007 theme of Blue Jackets – Bright Futures reflects FFA’s mission of making a positive difference in the lives of students through premier leadership, personal growth and career success. We should all take great pride in our combined efforts to support a new generation of well-rounded citizens. Thank you for your individual support and your continued dedication to the potential in each member of FFA. Sincerely, Charlie Fischer A. Charles Fischer 2007 Individual Giving Council Chairman
