How about “the plaza by Blockbuster?” Yep, by the Chinese place. However, there is now a new boutique by the name of Bliss. The name pretty much sums up the whole concept and mood of the store: Bliss. From the moment you step in the door, your eyes dart around from the huge display of jewelry to the wall-to-wall displays of burnout and embellished shirts, trendy jack- ets, and jeweled jeans. It is a shopaholic’s dream and a teenage girl’s paradise. The best part is that Bliss makes trendy clothing affordable. Yes, this clothing is almost identical to the clothing at Buckle™, except all of Bliss’s shirts are priced below $15. They also carry several varieties of embellished jeans all for under $35—a dream come true to most teenage girls…and their parents. Aside from the affordable and cool clothing, one of the coolest things about Bliss is the personality of the store . The dressing rooms have big boards on them, and shoppers are actually encouraged to sign the boards and leave messages for their friends. “BLISS” is painted on the back wall in big graffiti letters—something done by an area high school student. There is also tin and brick on the walls, which give it a very upbeat and urban feel. Cute clothes that will not break that bank—it is pure bliss. Story by Sara Rudolph

Bliss carries a wide variety of stylish and popular clothing. Every piece of clothing is sure to be unique; the owner only orders a few of each item.

Duncan’s Cafe

Located in one of the older, historic buildings of Council Bluffs, Duncan’s Café is one of the few places to eat that offers a glimpse into the earlier years of the town. Walking inside the building may be an intimidating experience for some, but as soon as you walk through the doors of the café, all intimidation is gone. The decorations on the wall combined with the daily customers puts off an atmosphere similar to the kitchen of a grandparent. Duncan’s isn’t geared toward teens, per say, but that doesn’t mean teens can’t have a good time. The wait staff is smiley and warm, and the cooks provide a tasty hot meal. They are known for their home-cooked meals. Prices aren’t any higher than any other sit-down restaurant breakfast, but the portions are considerably larger. Duncan’s is a welcoming place, and on a scale of 5 stars, I’d give it a 4. Story by Carrie Miller

Walk through the back doors of our high school, you can see a lot of things but you can never hear a lot. That is because of the Lewis Central weight room “where Titans are made and enhanced” But what makes the weight room so loud? Some say it is hard work and others say it is people jacking around and slamming weights, or maybe it is one of the giant seniors putting up 300 pounds on bench. How do they do it? It may surprise you, but most are on muscle supplements. These supplements can have both positive and negative effects on athletes and even on people who just want to get stronger and build muscle. It seems that the higher complexity of the supplement, the more risk that comes with it. To make it easier I am going to split these into three variations of muscle enhancers.
