My son thought it was hilarious, me nor so much considering the cost.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Love this book!By Matthew DicarloThe book is about superheroes and villains that are kids. The main characters are Plasmus, Shimmer, Gizmo, Psimon, Beastboy, Raven, Cyborg and others. The Tiny Titans go to school at Sidekick City Elementary. Some of their teachers are Super Villains! The book is very interesting because there are lots of details to the story. There is a pink blob that looks like ice cream but it is actually an evil monster. Itrsquo;s funny because they use Cyborg to bake a cake and kid Devilrsquo;s head is used for Robinrsquo;s milk to turn into hot chocolate.I have read other books in the Tiny Titans series and I liked them also. I would read other books in this series because the series is so good.I would recommend this book to all people that are my age. I am seven years old.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This Reader's Musings ...By Nicola MansfieldI've always wanted to try this series from DC/Capstone and am pleased to finally get the chance. Written for the youngest crowd, these are easy to read and feature multiple 1-4 page vignettes like the olden day "kiddie comics". While none of the stories are actually related there are a couple of themes that run through some of them. One being the appearance of the Fearsome Five trying to cause our heroes some trouble and the other is stories which feature Terra and her love for Superman vs Beast Boy and his crush on Terra. Cute little stories. Great art. I'm always pleased with Art Baltazar's work. Lovely intro to comics for the beginning reader. Listed at a 2.5 RL. The Fearsome Five have arrived, and they have their eyes set on the Tiny Titans playground! Plus, Beast Boy has a crush on a rock throwing lass and Cyborg helps bake a cake. From BooklistThis is the first in Stone Archrsquo;s line of Tiny Titans books, reprinting DCrsquo;s popular and Eisner-winning childrenrsquo;s title. Characters like Robin, Starfire, Kid Flash, Speedy, Raven, Cyborg, and Beast Boymdash;who will be familiar to many young readers from cartoon shows like Teen Titans and Young Justicemdash;gallivant through several fast-paced vignettes focusing on group dynamics and school life. Putting superheroes into real-life situations and environments familiar to the readership is likely to charm, and the humor is well calculated for the age level. The art balances classical cartooning that exaggerates various features, actions, and emotions, with a modern stylization and color palette that exemplifies the motion and energy. The only real downside here is that you get only a single issuersquo;s worth of story, while the softcover collections currently published by DC contain six full issues. Back matter includes character introductions, a glossary, and some educator-targeted visual questions and prompts. Grades K-2. --Jesse KarpAbout the AuthorBorn in Chicago, Art Baltazar found his way early to comic book art and has been cartooning ever since he can recall. • Strengths Become Vulnerabilities How a Digital World Disadvantages the United States in Its International Relations
A HOOVER INSTITUTION ESSAY Strengths Become Vulnerabilities HOW A DIGITAL WORLD DISadVANTAGES THE UNITED STATES IN ITS INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS JACK GOLDSMITH AND STUART RUSSELL Aegis Series Paper No. 1806 The Roman Empire’s multi-continent system of roads effectuated and symbolized Roman military, economic, and cultural power for centuries. Those same roads were eventually used as a pathway for the Goths to attack and destroy the empire.1 The Internet and related digital systems that the United States did so much to create have effectuated and symbolized US military, economic, and cultural power for decades. The question raised by this essay is whether these systems, like the Roman Empire’s roads, will come to be seen as a platform that accelerated US decline. We are not so foolish as to predict that this will happen.2 But this essay does seek to shine light on the manifold and, in the aggregate, underappreciated structural Law and Technology, Security, National challenges that digital systems increasingly present for the United States, especially in its relations with authoritarian adversaries. These problems arise most clearly in the face of the “soft” cyber operations that have been so prevalent and damaging in the United States in recent years: cyber espionage, including the digital theft of public- and private-sector secrets; information operations and propaganda, related to elections; doxing, which is the theft and publication of private information; and relatively low-level cyber disruptions such as denial-of-service and ransomware attacks.3 Our central claim is that the United States is disadvantaged in the face of these soft cyber operations due to constitutive and widely admired features of American society, including the nation’s commitment to free speech, privacy, and the rule of law; its innovative technology firms; its relatively unregulated markets; and its deep digital sophistication.

  • Teen Titans Go! to the Movies’
Movie Review: ‘Teen Titans Go! To the Movies’ NEW YORK — Though a mixed bag of good values and a bit of dodgy humor renders it acceptable but not ideal for kids, sharp satire makes the witty animated comedy “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies” (Warner Bros.) a hoot for their elders. As it skewers a broad range of subjects, from some politicians’ preoccupation with the size of their hands to 1980s-style anthems of affirmation, the film wins smiles and laughs at a remarkably steady pace. Even the plot is a vehicle for mockery. A youthful version of Batman’s sidekick Robin (voice of Scott Menville) becomes obsessed by the fact that, unlike all other superheroes, no movie has ever been made about him. The other members of the ensemble of crime fighters Robin leads — shape-shifting Beast Boy (voice of Greg Cipes), human-mechanical mashup Cyborg (voice of Khary Payton), teleporting Raven (voice of Tara Strong) and alien princess Starfire (voice of Hynden Walch) — don’t share his fixation with Hollywood. But, as supportive pals, they go along for the ride. Through their battle with master mind manipulator Slade (voice of Will Arnett) the team acquires the evil nemesis considered essential to their quest. And they eventually convince Tinseltown director Jade Wilson (voice of Kristen Bell) to feature them. But Robin’s ego and the silliness of his pals get in the way, leading to a breakup of the group. As Robin and his buddies strive to be taken seriously, this big-screen adaptation of the Cartoon Network TV series hilariously harpoons a wide range of pop-culture targets in a manner that will amuse grownups.

BATMAN, CATWOMAN, GOTHAM CITY, ET AL CREATED BY BOB KANE, PROPERTY OF DC ENTERTAINMENT, USED WITHOUT PERMISSION SPONTANEOUS GENERATION Prologue: Ivy's Song Weakness. If there was one thing that made her physically ill, it was weakness. Nature was not weak. Nature was the ultimate power. What could man make that Nature could not destroy? Their fleshy bodies, their cities, their pitiful notions of achievement? What was a church compared to a forest? A painting compared to a mountain, a symphony next to a flower… Well, actually, she liked music. Even her plants liked music. Mozart in particular. And there was nothing in Nature to compare it to. The mathematical underpinnings of music were absolutely man-made, and it had to be said, it was… beautiful. A THOUGHT THAT MADE HER WANT TO SCREAM! Beautiful belonged to Nature. It belonged to Flowers. It was hers, and this filthy animal, masculine, homo sapien, civilized, plant-eating THING had made something that was wholly theirs, wholly unique, and wholly beautiful. JUST HAVING THE THOUGHT MADE HER WANT TO RIP HER HAIR OUT BY THE ROOT! It was so weak. Pamela’s little thoughts and feelings. As the living embodiment of the Goddess Lifeforce, Poison Ivy rebelled at the idea of hating any part of herself, but that, that… Pamela had become such a burden. People made something beautiful. It was disgusting. But now she had that thought in her head, and it was all because of that part of herself that, for lack of a better term, she called Pam.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: ORIGINS Written by Chad Handley [email protected] EXT. PARK - DAY An idyllic American park from our Rockwellian past. A pick- up truck pulls up onto a nearby gravel lot. INT. PICK-UP TRUCK - DAY MARTHA KENT (30s) stalls the engine. Her young son, CLARK, (7) apprehensively peeks out at the park from just under the window. MARTHA KENT Go on, Clark. Scoot. CLARK Can’t I go with you? MARTHA KENT No, you may not. A woman is entitled to shop on her own once in a blue moon. And it’s high time you made friends your own age. Clark watches a group of bigger, rowdier boys play baseball on a diamond in the park. CLARK They won’t like me. MARTHA KENT How will you know unless you try? Go on. I’ll be back before you know it. EXT. PARK - BASEBALL DIAMOND - MOMENTS LATER Clark watches the other kids play from afar - too scared to approach. He is about to give up when a fly ball plops on the ground at his feet. He stares at it, unsure of what to do. BIG KID 1 (yelling) Yo, kid. Little help? Clark picks up the ball. Unsure he can throw the distance, he hesitates. Rolls the ball over instead. It stops halfway to Big Kid 1, who rolls his eyes, runs over and picks it up. 2. BIG KID 1 (CONT’D) Nice throw. The other kids laugh at him. Humiliated, Clark puts his hands in his pockets and walks away. Big Kid 2 advances on Big Kid 1; takes the ball away from him.
