PRESS RELEASE CHANGES IN POLLING STATIONS FOR SOME VOTERS IN JALAN BESAR AND TAMPINES GROUP REPRESENTATION CONSTITUENCIES Eligible voters in the contested constituencies began receiving their Poll Cards since Friday, 28 April 2006. The Poll Card, which is white, indicates the address of the Polling Station which the voter is to go to vote. It also contains information about the voter’s Electoral Division and Polling District. Voters should bring their poll cards and their identity cards/passports when they go to vote. Voters in Polling Districts JB-JB11, JB-JB21, JB-JB25 and TM-TM13 will, however, receive fresh Poll Cards from 2 May 2006 onwards, stating a change in their Polling Stations. The change is made for the convenience of most voters in these areas. It will allow them to cast their votes at a Polling Station nearer to their homes. When they go to vote, voters in these affected Polling Districts should instead bring along the second poll cards they receive from tomorrow onwards, together with their identity cards/passports. Voters in Polling District JB-JB11 of Jalan Besar Group Representation Constituency (GRC) should go to the Polling Station located at HDB Block 9 Void Deck at St. George’s Road to cast their votes, instead of Bendemeer Primary School (B) as indicated in their white Poll Cards. Polling District JB-JB11 refers to the area bounded by Central Expressway, Jalan Toa Payoh, Serangoon Road, St. George’s Road, St. Francis Road and St. Wilfred Road. Voters in Polling District JB-JB21 of Jalan Besar GRC should go to the Polling Station located at Kallang Community Club at Boon Keng Road to cast their votes, instead of HDB Block 6 Void Deck at Boon Keng Road as indicated in their white Poll Cards.
