© National Library of Scotland Minutes, reports, financial and business papers, c. 1970-1999, of Theatre Workshop Edinburgh.

Theatre Workshop Edinburgh, now called Theatre Workshop Scotland, was established in 1965 as a drama centre for children. In the 1970s the company began to work with disabled people and remained committed to completely inclusive theatre thereafter. In 2009, after a long period as a producing and receiving theatre in its Hamilton Place premises in Edinburgh, Theatre Workshop stopped operating as a building-based theatre company and became a theatre and film production and development company. Theatre Workshop Scotland continues in its mission of working with, and giving a voice to, marginalised groups.

For Theatre Workshop’s production archive circa 1990-2008, see Acc.13016.
