Special Notice SPECIAL NOTICE Public Participation Accessibility for the City Council and Successor Agency for the Paramount Redevelopment Agency meetings scheduled for August 4, 2020. Pursuant to Executive Order N-29-20, executed by the Governor of California on March 17, 2020, and as a response to mitigating the spread of Coronavirus known as COVID- 19, the regular meeting of the City Council scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. will allow members of the public to participate and address the City Council during the open session of the meeting via live stream and/or teleconference only. The e-mail must specify the following information: 1) Full Name; 2) City of Residence; 3) Phone Number; 4) Public Comment or Agenda Item No; 5) Subject; 6) Written Comments. Comments related to a specific agenda item must be received before the item is considered and will be provided to the City Council accordingly as they are received. Redirect City funds from law Through surveys and scientific polls, enforcement services; residents have expressed a consistent desire to keep Public Safety a top priority. This commitment and priority to Public Safety is reflected in the approved Fiscal Year 2021 budget. Create a law enforcement Since 2016, LA County has had a review board; and Sheriff’s Civilian Oversight Commission https://coc.lacounty.gov/ which serves as a law enforcement review board. Residents are encouraged to participate in the actions of this Commission.

Stephens, Executive Director DEFINITION: A school-associated violent death is any homicide, suicide, or weapons-related violent death in the United States in which the fatal injury occurred: 1) on the property of a functioning public, private or parochial elementary or secondary school, Kindergarten through grade 12, (including alternative schools); 2) on the way to or from regular sessions at such a school; 3) while person was attending or was on the way to or from an official school-sponsored event; 4) as an obvious direct result of school incident/s, function/s or activities, whether on or off school bus/vehicle or school property. * Note: Not a scientific survey. Since information is taken from newspaper clipping services, it is possible that not all such clippings have reached the NSSC. SCOPE: Newspaper accounts, on which NSSC bases this report, frequently do not list names and ages of those who are charged with the deaths of others. Such omissions were in some cases because the person charged was a minor. In some instances, persons were killed in drive-by shootings, gang encounters or during melees in which the killer was not identified, and the killers were either never apprehended or were caught days or months after the crime was first reported.
