All monies raised will contribute to the Bobby Moore Fund’s lifesaving bowel cancer research. The inaugural event in December 2010 saw 48 football fans take part in an action-packed and unforgettable afternoon at Wembley Stadium. The event was such a success that the Bobby Moore Fund has returned to Wembley year on year, with highlights including stellar performances from team captains Denis Wise, and and a medal presentation ceremony led by the legendary England goalie David Seaman MBE. Since 2010 in excess of £325,000 has been raised – an incredible sum for vital research.

“To get the chance to pull on the England number 4 shirt in the home changing room at Wembley, line-up for the national anthem, and then play football on the Wembley pitch was just the most incredible, magical and memorable day… Anyone who has ever harboured dreams of playing football in the most famous stadium on the planet should jump at the chance to experience what I experienced last year.” Simon Clare, PR Director at Coral, Bobby Moore Fund Supporter

The Bobby Moore Fund

The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK is committed to beating bowel cancer in memory of the legendary footballer Bobby Moore.

Stephanie Moore MBE established the Bobby Moore Fund in 1993. The Fund was set up in memory of her husband, World Cup hero Bobby Moore OBE, who died from bowel cancer at the age of just 51. To date, with support of people like you, we have raised over £22 million.

Bowel cancer remains the second most common cause of cancer death in the UK, with 44 people losing their lives to the disease every day. Every step we make towards finding a cure relies on every pound raised. One day research will beat this disease and that is why we fund the pioneering work of world-class scientists. With your help we can make that day come sooner.
