Foreword Tertiary education is an activity of particular interest for the Republic of Serbia and part of the international, especially European, scientific and artistic area. It is realized through academic and applied studies based on ap- proved, i.e. accredited study programmes for attaining tertiary education. The data on tertiary education are a result of regular annual surveys that are carried out in all tertiary education institutions and are collected by means of individual questionnaires. For enrolled students one uses the “Statistical report on enrolled students” (form SV-20), for graduated students the “Statistical report for students who graduated at higher education institutions” (form SV 50) and for teaching staff the “Report on teaching staff and structure of higher education institutions” (form SV-21). Apart from this publication the data on tertiary education are also published in the “Statistical Year-book of the Republic of Serbia”, “Municipalities and regions in the Republic of Serbia”, “Statistical pocket-book of the Republic of Serbia” as well as in occasional publications issued by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.
