Reopening of the Cernuschi Museum by Dominique Vautrin

>> Under construction for several months, the Cernuschi Museum or Museum of Asian Arts of the city of Paris, has just reopened its doors.

Installed in a beautiful mansion on the edge of , this renovation campaign has enabled Eric Lefebvre, the Museum's director, to rethink the visit as a travel experience, staged by the Maciej Fiszer Studio in full respect of the spirit of its founder Henri Cernuschi.

The Museum's collection, which today has been enriched with pieces from Vietnam, and Korea, enjoys a very precise lighting. The intense red, reminiscent of lacquered boxes, is very present in the scenography. It reveals and enhances, like a jewel case, the impressive status of the Buddha Amida, the real highlight of the Museum.

In this new itinerary, the Museum wants to create bridges between the past and the present, and the collection is now open to contemporary art with its new "Salle des Peintures" entirely dedicated to graphic works of art from the Far East. You will be able to discover a first selection of "Contemporary Korea" until June 14.

But, to conclude, it is undoubtedly the Secretary General, Madame Alassimone, who has the answer to our question before entering the Museum: "Our challenge is to bring into a typically Parisian mansion!".
