Interested Juniors: Please circle scholarships you would like to be considered for and submit this sheet along with a copy of your resume and intended major to the Guidance Office by Friday, March 27, 2020. Junior awards are available for the colleges listed below. If you are awarded a scholarship you are not bound to attend the college however, you will only receive the monies if you enroll. If you have any questions please contact your school counselor.

JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIPS 2020

– Clarkson Leadership Award $15,000 annually for up to four years for high school juniors nominated by selected high schools who demonstrate leadership and outstanding academic achievement. The Leadership Award is not a stackable scholarship. It will be considered part of the overall merit award.

 Clarkson University – Clarkson Achievement Award $12,000 annually The Clarkson Achievement Award is designed to annually recognize students who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, positively impact their high school and local community, and have a proven academic record.

– Key Award $20,000 annually The Elmira College Key Award, sponsored by the Elmira College Alumni Association, has been awarded to students since 1935. This award of merit is presented to one male and one female in their junior year who has demonstrated outstanding school and community leadership. Must be in the top 10% of their class and have a minimum academic average of 90%

 LeMoyne College – LeMoyne College Heights Award $12,500 annually The award is to recognize juniors who are “reaching for the Heights” in the classroom and in service to their school and community. Students must be ranked in the top 10% of their class, have at least a 90 average, scored a minimum of 50 on each of the three subsections on the PSAT and have made significant contributions to your school or community

 Marist College – Project Greystone Technology Award $5,000 annually The Greystone Technology award is for students wishing to pursue a career in computer technology and mathematics. This is $5,000 scholarship to attend Marist College for a student admitted as a Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology, or Mathematics major. It is renewable each year for 4 years.

 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – Rensselaer Medal $25,000 annually Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute awards the Rensselaer Medal to promising secondary school students who have distinguished themselves in mathematics and science. Students must be in the top 10% of their class. The student must exhibit significant involvement in extracurricular activities and demonstrate potential success in a challenging academic setting.

 Rochester Institute of Technology – Creativity and Innovation Award $7,000 annually This award honors high school juniors (one male and one female) who have distinguished themselves academically, are active and involved members of their school and community, and have demonstrated outstanding achievement in innovation, creativity, or entrepreneurship. Students should be in top 10% of the class.

 Rochester Institute of Technology – Computing Medal and Scholarship Program $7,000 annually This award honors high school juniors (one male and one female) who have distinguished themselves academically, are active and involved members of their school and community, and demonstrate interest and ability in computing. Students should be in top 10% of the class.

 Sage Colleges- Student Sage Award ranging from $5000 to $15,000 annually toward tuition at College or Sage College of Albany. The Student Sage Scholarship recognizes up to five students who are leaders, powerful communicators and are involved in school and the community by serving and inspiring others. Both candidates have demonstrated themselves as a young woman or young man in the junior class who embody The Sage Colleges motto: “To Be, To Know, To Do”.

 Saint Lawrence University - Saint Lawrence Book Award and Scholarship $1,000 annually This award recognizes a member of the junior class who has displayed significant commitment to community service.

 Saint Michael’s College – The Saint Michael’s College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience. Ranging from $5000 to full tuition. Recognizes one male and one female student in the junior class who exhibit the characteristics of achievement in academics and community service. Students must excel academically and have a sustained sincere commitment to community service activities through high school.

– Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award – Consideration for $7,500 annually Each year, since 1933, The University of Rochester and Bausch and Lomb has honored outstanding science students with The Honorary Science Award Medal. This award is presented to a student in the junior class who has high achievement and rigor in science classes, has a high PSAT or SAT score, and positively contributes to their school and community.

 University of Rochester – Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award and Scholarship in Humanities and Social Sciences - Consideration for $10,000 - $20,000 annually The humanities and social studies teach critical skills: how to think, how to read, how to reason - intellectual powers with the widest applications. Proficiency in these disciplines will help students understand society and the forces that move it, the historical currents that led us from the past to present, and the possibilities of the future. This award is given to a student of the junior class who demonstrates commitment to understanding and addressing difficult social situations, shows leadership and a strong dedication to community action, and has strong grades and rigorous courses taken in the humanities and social sciences.

 University of Rochester- George Eastman Young Leaders Program - Consideration for $10,000 - $20,000 annually Recognizes outstanding achievement by high school juniors in leadership and academics by awarding the Kodak Young Leaders Award. Candidates have demonstrated strong leadership, grades, challenging coursework and extracurricular activities.

 University of Rochester – Xerox Award For Innovation and Information Technology - Consideration for $10,000 - $20,000 annually This award recognizes high school juniors that demonstrate strong interest in innovation and/or information technology and a high level of achievement in this area. Exposure to new technologies outside of school, such as pursuing serious work opportunities in local laboratories or industry. Leading other students to new approaches to old problems, e.g. business plans for fundraising; innovative community service; after-school activities; and best uses of internal communications tools such as chat and blogs.

– 21st Century Leadership Award - $10,000 annually Students are selected for this award based on spirit, integrity, intellectual, and leadership qualities. Qualified candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of 85% and demonstrated leadership ability and/or potential through school and community activities
