Swami Ramanand Teerth Mahavidyalaya, Ambajogai Best Practice II- Mahila Atmabhan Shibir Report (2012-13 to 2016-17) This seven days’ residential program is conducted during 1 to 8 May in our college campus. Girls from our college, other colleges and schools participate in this 8 day residential camp. The aim is to make them intellectually and physically strong. To meet this aim, our college, Shri. Yogeshwari Education Society’s Krida Prabodhini and Kamalbai Khursale Smruti Nyas jointly organize intellectual and physical training. In these training, successful women, struggling activists from the different fields and the expert trainers of Judo, Karate, Lathi-Kathi, Yoga and Pranayam are invited to train our girl students. This training is conducted during 6:00 a.m. to 6: 00 p.m. with two hours rest in the afternoon. Beed district of Marathwada is known for the wrong reason that the 2011 census showed a sharp decline in the population of the girl child in Beed. This region has a history of local clinics and hospitals indulging in sex determination and female foeticide. Local people are reluctant to speak about such issues openly. So our college has taken initiative to vent and expose the issue in front of young aspirants of the college and society. The Marathwada is socially, educationally and economically backward region and it is known as the district of Sugarcane workers. There is less participation of women in education, entrepreneurship and service sector. The outcome of this activity is measurable in the success of girl students in their college activities, NCC, NSS and their career. Every year NCC cadet is selected for RD Parade at New Delhi. Most of the girls become successful in competitive exams and become PSI. It is noticed that most of the girls are looking confident, fearless and Along with various activities, the lectures on the issues related to girls and women are organized every year. 1 2012-13-A Date Name of the Guest Speaker Subject/Topic 19/11/2012 Hon.
