Sejarah berdirinya Panser Biru serta dinamika yang dialami oleh Panser sangat menarik untuk diteliti, karena keberadaan Panser Biru dapat berdampak pada sosial, ekonomi dan politik bagi klub, kota dan masyarakat di Semarang. Panser Biru sebagai suporter Mahesa Jenar, yaitu julukan PSIS Semarang, serta merupakan organisasi suporter sepakbola pertama yang ada di Semarang dideklarasikan pada tahun 2001, hingga sekarang berumur 19 tahun masih tetap eksis sebagai salah satu suporter terbesar di Indonesia. Beberapa hal tersebut yang mendasari saya untuk mengambil topik ini. Bukan topik ini yang pertama saya usulkan, tetapi ini merupakan usulan dari dosen pembimbing. Kemudian saya research terkait Panser Biru, ternyata belum ada yang membahas mengenai sejarah, dinamika dan dampak dari Panser Biru, penelitian terdahulu hanya berfokus pada fanatisme Panser Biru dan konflik Panser Biru dengan Snex. Saya sendiri sangat menikmati proses melakukan penelitian ini, karena memang saya menyukai hal-hal yang berhubungan dengan sepakbola.

Saya duduk di tempat favorit saya di Plaza Indonesia Extension. Canteen, deket jendela. Minuman yang paling saya suka di Canteen adalah Hot Chocolate. Selain air putih tentunya, tapi air putih mah di mana-mana juga sama :P Setiap kali saya di sana untuk wawancara, saya meminum minuman yang sama. Hot Chocolate. Saking seringnya, pelayannya saja sampe hafal. Selain karena mereka punya kemampuan mengingat yang baik, saya memang minumnya selalu ketebak. Itu-ituuuuu mulu. Kalau saya masuk Starbucks mereka juga langsung bertanya “Caramel Machiatto?” Pada prinsipnya, minuman hangat membantu saya menenangkan diri. Setiap menghadapi wawancara, saya ingin memastikan bahwa saya berada dalam kondisi yang tenang, fokus, dan siap untuk menjawab pertanyaan wartawan. Maklum, ketidakmampuan saya untuk konsentrasi membuat saya sering melenceng ke mana-mana kalau berbicara. Apalagi kalau bertemu wartawan media cetak. Yang pernah wawancara saya pasti paham apa yang saya maksud Ketenangan memang saya perlukan, berhubung, hampir bisa dipastikan saya selalu bertemu dengan pertanyaan yang sama. Wajar memang, karena saya ingin ditanya pertanyaan yang sama itu, “Apakah IndonesiaUnite sebenarnya?” Tapi hari itu, saya mendapatkan pertanyaan yang rada berbeda.. “Kok bisa sih Mas optimis sekali dengan Indonesia di saat kebanyakan pesimis?” Setiap kali saya ditanya, saya mengulang pertanyaannya di dalam kepala saya, lalu mencari jawabannya.
