Cada um concorre em 10 categorias. Em seguida, aparece 12 Anos de Escravidão, indicado a nove estatuetas. Capitão Phillips, Clube de Compras Dallas e Nebraska disputam seis prêmios, e O Lobo de Wall Street e Ela competem em cinco categorias. Nenhum filme brasileiro foi indicado. O Som ao Redor já tinha sido eliminado da categoria Melhor Filme em Língua Estrangeira na pré-lista de indicações, divulgada em dezembro.
