We are proud to present the third annual “Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend 2018 – Presented by AIA Vitality” on November 3-4. This year, the races are getting bigger and better with over 12,000 runners and more than 100 Disney • Pixar pals cheering our runners on across different running routes. Look out for your favorite Disney friends and characters especially those from award-winning films such as “Toy Story” and “The Incredibles” for some unique photo opportunities. Runners of all ages and abilities have signed up to experience this unique event that combines the magic of Disney and the joy of exercise. We hope that with the variety of race categories from 10K, 5K, 3K to kids’ race and Disneyland’s family-friendly setup, more families and friends are encouraged to share quality time together while enjoying the benefit of running and exercising. A highlight that I am particularly proud of this year is our social responsibility initiatives. By taking part in the races, you are supporting our donation to Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Ho Yuk Ching Educational Psychology Service Centre which will benefit children and youth with special educational needs in the local community. Together with AIA Foundation and SF&OC Sports Legacy Company, we were able to provide running training and coaching to students at Buddhist Fat Ho Memorial College, who will also be joining the races. Another initiative is our commitment to reducing waste, which has always been a crucial part of our mega events. Help us make this event as environmentally friendly as possible by making good use of water dispensers along the routes, and recycling your plastic water bottles, paper packaging and other disposable items on-site. Last but not least, I would like to thank AIA Vitality, which returns for the third consecutive year as the presenting sponsor, and all our Cast Members who are absolutely vital in bringing this healthy, family-friendly event to life. Also, I’d like to thank Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, our co- organizer, for their support. It is an honor to welcome you all and I wish you a fun and safe run. Samuel LAU Executive Vice President and Managing Director Hong Kong Disneyland Resort 1 Messages The Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA) is excited to cooperate with the Hong Kong Disneyland again to organize the ‘Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend 2018 - Presented by AIA Vitality’. We are glad to take this opportunity to promote the benefit of distance running. It is a precious experience to take part in this running event with lots of famous Disney characters in the Hong Kong Disneyland. I believe it is one of the signature distance running events in Hong Kong. There are almost 20,000 runners participate in the race every year. The quota has been increased for more runners to run together, play together and smile together. Apart from the Standardized 10K race, runners can participate in the 5km and 3km races based on their own abilities. Runners can participate in designated theme races with different Disney characters. It would be an unforgettable moment for the families, children and runners who are fans of Disney. Parents can also run with their children in order to develop their children’s habit and healthy lifestyle during the training. HKAAA will continuously provide appropriate support in race route planning and management to ensure runners will run in a safe environment. Besides, the results of ‘The Incredibles 10K’ Race will recognize as one of the HKAAA 10K events and include in the Hong Kong Ranking. Wish all participants enjoy running in the race. Be prepared in the training and build a healthy lifestyle in training. I look forward to seeing you at the starting line. It connects Kowloon with the New Territories South via Route 8 Expressway, linking the Airport, Tung Chung, Disneyland, Tsing Yi and Shatin. Tung Chung was a fishing village developed as part of the airport core program, and now becomes the hub of the Greater Pearl River Delta with the building of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. As the most populated areas in Lantau and fastest growing town in Hong Kong, Tung Chung is also the Gateway to Hong Kong. The HK International Airport is just a few minutes away and Tung Chung serves as interchange for all transports to the famous scenery spots in Lantau, such as the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Buddha (Tian Tan Buddha), and the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car. With the active pursuance of the Tung Chung Safe and Community and leadership of the District Councilors, more recreation facilities, public transport network, and healthcare infrastructure are set up, such as the new public library, cycling paths, herbal garden and the construction of the new North Lantau Hospital.

  • When Is the Best Time to Go to Hong Kong?
Page 1 of 98 Chris’ Copyrights @ 2011 When Is The Best Time To Go To Hong Kong? Winter Season (December - March) is the most relaxing and comfortable time to go to Hong Kong but besides the weather, there's little else to do since the "Sale Season" occurs during Summer. There are some sales during Christmas & Chinese New Year but 90% of the clothes are for winter. Hong Kong can get very foggy during winter, as such, visit to the Peak is a hit-or-miss affair. A foggy bird's eye view of HK isn't really nice. Summer Season (May - October) is similar to Manila's weather, very hot but moving around in Hong Kong can get extra uncomfortable because of the high humidity which gives the "sticky" feeling. Hong Kong's rainy season also falls on their summer, July & August has the highest rainfall count and the typhoons also arrive in these months. The Sale / Shopping Festival is from the start of July to the start of September. If the sky is clear, the view from the Peak is great. Avoid going to Hong Kong when there are large-scale exhibitions or ongoing tournaments like the Hong Kong Sevens Rugby Tournament because hotel prices will be significantly higher. CUSTOMS & DUTY FREE ALLOWANCES & RESTRICTIONS • Currency - No restrictions • Tobacco - 19 cigarettes or 1 cigar or 25 grams of other manufactured tobacco • Liquor - 1 bottle of wine or spirits • Perfume - 60ml of perfume & 250 ml of eau de toilette • Cameras - No restrictions • Film - Reasonable for personal use • Gifts - Reasonable amount • Agricultural Items - Refer to consulate Note: • If arriving from Macau, duty-free imports for Macau residents are limited to half the above cigarette, cigar & tobacco allowance • Aircraft crew & passengers in direct transit via Hong Kong are limited to 20 cigarettes or 57 grams of pipe tobacco.
