People look for new forms of recreation to verify their life and get new experience. Such basic types of tourism, for example cultural or educational traveling, give way to new types of tourism. To such new or non-standard types of tourism can be referred, for example, homestay tourism, eco-tourism, sport tourism, flashpacker, etc. Ad- venture tourism takes one of the most important places in the list of new types of traveling. It may seem strange, but a single standard for adventure traveling has not been created, there is no clear definition and there is no single formula for creating adventure tours. As a rule, adventure travel means the commercial journey with active ways of transportation, which is connected with being in the natural environment [1]. There are different types of adventure tour- ism, including extreme traveling. Extreme tourism is understood as tourism with elements of extreme sports – a journey with difficulties for human body and even danger – a grueling horse trekking, rafting, diving, sky-jumping in exotic countries, heli-skiing and heli-boarding, rock climbing and caving [2]. Peo- ple’s interest to extreme tourism is growing every year. According to some statistics, the share of this segment accounts more than 10% of the whole tourist market in the world, and the growth of ex- treme travel is above the average growth rate of tourism in general, and moreover, the growth of ex- treme travel exceeds the average growth rate of tourism in general [3]. Extreme tourism attracts people of different ages and backgrounds who have different family and social position, significantly differ- ent levels of cultural and physical development. Some foreign experts explain that the phenomenon of adventure tourism morals and tastes have changed, like it has occurred in the West in recent years. Modern man, accustomed to a stable lifestyle and technological progress, feel the need of adrenaline splash. Adventure tourism is one of the ways to satisfy these demands gaining every year more and more popularity among the inhabitants of the modern world. In Russia, extreme tourism is less developed than in European countries. Although in Russia, there are places that can be successfully used for extreme tourism. Therefore, for the development of Rus- sian tourism in general the following types of adventure tourism needs to be developed and promoted : 1. Water types of extreme tourism; 2. Ground types of of extreme tourism; 3. Mountain types of extreme tourism; 4. Air types of extreme tourism; 5. Exotic types of extreme tourism; One of the most popular water types of extreme tourism is diving (scuba diving, diving), which is very popular around the world. In fact, diving can be practiced in any pond - whether it is sea, ocean, lake or fresh water river. But there are places on the planet that are most attractive for fans of this kind of tour- ism. It is, first of all, places interesting in terms of underwater beauties, underwater objects of interest to the archaeological and scientific sides, and populated by interesting marine life. Among the most popu- lar and interesting places for divers can be distinguished the following: the Great Barrier Reef, located in Australia and Oceania, Allied Island, Coconut Island, Catalina Island (North America), the Maldives, Sharm-el-Sheikh, Dahab, Hurghada (Egypt), Malta, the Yucatan Peninsula (Southern Mexico), Thailand, etc. Today in Russia, compared with foreign countries, diving is poorly developed. But in Russia there are places that would be able to attract not only domestic but also foreign divers. This is the Black Sea, Sea of Japan and the White Sea. Here, divers can find a lot of curious and interesting objects of the un- 548 derwater world and its inhabitants. In the Black Sea you can admire the underwater rocks and the vari- ous inhabitants of the underwater world. In the Sea of Japan octopus and squid can be found – the typical representatives of warm seas. At the same time, the vertical walls, covered with sea anemones, the gar- dens of the brown seaweed - Luminary similar to underwater landscapes of the northern seas. The under- water world of the White Sea is also quite rich and unique. The surface of the rocks covered with soft corals, sea anemones, sponges and ascidians and hydroids. In the crevices and between the stones there are starfish, brittle stars, crabs and prawns crawl [3]. Another kind of of extreme tourism is water rafting. It is a fascinating descent on a mountain riv- er in a canoe or special rafts. Rafting - one of the most visited tours, safe even for the youngest visitors. In recent years, it has become so popular among fans of extreme relaxation and therefore the majority of mountain rivers suitable for such tourism have been mastered by professionals. Nowadays they of- fer rafting trips to almost any place in the world. In Russia, rafting is one of the fastest growing types of active rest in the water. This is caused by the fact that our country like no other one is surprisingly rich in interesting and beautiful water routes. Russia with its variety of ponds allows you to make travel of any complexity category – from sim- ple, suitable for inexperienced travelers to highly complex - for the real professionals of the wa- ter extreme. The routes for rafting are already in Karelia, Altai, the Caucasus, the Urals, Eastern Sibe- ria, Mountain Shoria, Yakutia, Kamchatka, Far East, etc [4]. Among the air types of extreme tour- ism skydiving becomes very popular. People have started jumping with a parachute more than half a cen- tury ago, although these jumps have become the popular type of vacation only recently. There are many variants of skydiving. These are sky surfing, freestyling, group acrobatics, BASE- jumping, etc. This air type of extreme tourism can be developed in almost any region and any city of Russia, from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Tomsk and Kemerovo region. To one of the most common ground type of extreme tourism belongs caving. It’s one of the most dangerous entertainment. It’s the studying of caves, deep faults, chasms, pits. According to the degree of complexity caving is divided into educational, sporting and scientific research cav- ing. Excursion speleotourism is available to everyone, however, under the experience guid- ance. Professional cavers prefer unequipped little-studied caves. There are many caves in the Caucasus, the Urals. Widely known are Arkhyz, Kungur Ice Karst, Kapova cave, the cave "Soaring Bird" on Mount Fisht and many others [7]. Caving as a type of tourism in Russia was developed long ago. The most famous places for caving are: Arkhangelsk region, Bashkiria region, Altai, Khakassia, Voronezh, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Tula Region, Khabarovsk, Chelyabinsk, etc. This list can be endless [5]. Skiing is one of the oldest forms of active rest and at the present time the number of people who go skiing has increased several times. In addition, ski service has become much better and more diverse than 10 years ago, not to mention the years 1970-1980. Nowadays the most popular ski resorts are located in Europe. This ski holiday at the best tracks of the world combines high quality services. Skiing in Europe – in Austria, Switzer- land, northern Italy, France – is vacation and skiing on the highest level. Skiing in Scandinavia becomes more popular from one year to the next – it’s Sweden, Norway, Finland. Much more budget slopes with great service and excellent conditions for skiing are in Czech Republic, Poland, Croatia, and Bulgaria [6]. In Russia, this kind of tourism is up-to-date and should be developed, because in Russia there are a huge variety of mountain ranges. The main ski regions of Russia are the Caucasus and the Urals. The ski resorts of the Caucasus are Krasnaya Polyana, Dombai and Elbrus. In the Urals, the major resorts are lo- cated in the Sverdlovsk region, Chelyabinsk region and Bashkortostan. No less popular today is the ski resort Sheregesh, which is located in Kemerovo region. Tourists come there from all over Russia. There are also exotic types of extreme tourism, which can be organized in Russia. For example, space travel – the most expensive and exotic kind of extreme tourism – traveling to orbit of the Earth. There are just several temporary space tourists all over the world. The pioneers were an American millionaire Dennis Tito and citizen of South African Mark Shuttleworth. As Russia is one of the leading countries, which has been studying the space, it is quite possible to organize space tourism in our country.
