These significant Stage 1 works on the Gawler line will upgrade sections of the track between North Adelaide and Mawson Lakes and will involve: > upgrading the base layer > installing new gauge-convertible concrete sleepers > improving stormwater drainage > refurbishing/replacing rail > connecting the new Dry Creek railcar depot to the Gawler line. This upgrade is the first step towards electrification of the Gawler line, which is expected to be completed in 2013.
