AmCham has been operating in Ar- menia continuously since 2000. Through advocacy efforts aimed at such areas as tax legislation and customs administration, AmCham represents its members’ business interests in Armenia to the Armenian government, international organizations, and to the wider business community.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia provides an excellent source of information about Armenian business life by publishing the only English-language Business Magazine in Armenia, and by hosting regular member meetings with guest speakers representing the Arme- nian government, international organizations, and business community.

The company’s production is gold in the form of “Dore.” Dore production (bullion of gold and silver) is exported to Johnson Matthey refining factory for final processing, where 99.99% gold bars are sold on the London Bullion Market. Pres- ently the company’s annual production is 30-40 thousand ounces of gold. The investment in the project upgrade is in the process, whereby both the Sotk mine and Ararat process plant will be up- graded to mine and process higher tonnage volumes. As a result, annual gold production will increase.

“Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine” CJSC exploits Agarak ore-deposit, utilizing a flotation processing plant. Deposit reserves are estimated for more than 20 years. Plant annual process capacity is approximately 3 million tonnes of ore, containing 0.41% copper and 0.022% molybdenum. The plant’s monthly project capacity is 240,000 tonnes of ore. The company’s monthly production is 2 500 tonnes of copper concentrate, in which copper content is 26%, and 30 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, in which molybdenum content is 51%. An investment program is in progress, aimed at upgrade and modernization of plant and upgrade of in-pit machinery, which will allow an increase in metal extraction volumes, as well as more effective exploitation of the deposit. The product is exported mainly to the European countries.
