Död 2003-07-17 i Sundbyberg (AB). Järnvägstjänsteman. Sune fick redan vid 12 års ålder hjälpa till med lantbruket på Hult vilket han sedan fortsätter med även som dräng på gårdarna omkring tills han fyller 17 år. Som sjuttonåring, den 30 oktober1938, cyklar han till Stockholm och flyttar till till sin farbror Kalle (Kaleb) som arbetar på verkstaden vid Sockerbolaget i Tanto. I reskassa fick han 20 kr av sin far. Våren 39 flyttade han till Norrtullsgatan 56. 3 Sune bodde på Flintgatan 4 Iris på Sysslemansgatan 24 vid giftet enligt kyrkboken. När han gifte sig den 18 april 1942 med Iris flyttade dom till Stramaljvägen 15 i Riksby. Sportintresset började med fotboll för Löthens IF i Ludgo men därefter blev hans passion orientering. Sune började som 25-åring att springa orientering och då först i klubben Skuru IK. Från år1950 i Sundbybergs IK. Han blev senare under många år vald till orienteringssektionens ordförande. Sune har Svenska Orienteringsförbundets högsta valör Elit IV. Hans största meriter fick han i skidorientering, ett distriktsmästerskap i Stockholm 1952 och en 2:a plats på startsträckan i skidbudkavle SM året därefter. Han lyckades också behålla ledningen på 10-milasträcka nr 4 det år som Sundbybergs IK ledde i sju sträckor. Död 1993-01-23 i Sundbyberg (AB). Iris född 1921-06-22 på Allmänna BB i Engelbrekts församling i Stockholm och i kyrkböckerna är angivet fader okänd. Hon fick därför under första åren heta Samuelsson i efternamn. Vi vet dock att morfar var Robert Eriksson och att Robert och Betty gifte sig året 1923 innan hennes bror Bertil föddes. Efter att i många år backat upp sin man och fem barn började Iris springa orientering vid 55 års ålder 1976. (Barn Proband, s 1, Far II:3, s 5, Mor II:4, s 6) Gift 1942-04-18 i Stockholm (Kyrkbok) med föregående ana. Generation II:1 ff Eric Gustav Törnqvist. Född 1898-03-30 i Vrena (D). Död Ådala 1975-11-19 i Ludgo (D). Nämndeman, Kommunalpolitiker, Bonde m.m. Nämndeman, ordförande i socialnämnden, ledamot i kommunalfullmäktige och skolrådet, kommunalkassör, vilket i praktiken innebar att han skötte allt arbete både som kassör, 4 kamrer och skrivbiträde, ordförande i barnavårdsnämnd, ordförande, föreståndare och kassör i Ludgo - Spelvik elförening, kassör i jordbrukskassan samtidigt som han drev eget lantbruk i trettio år. Före allt detta arbetade Erik i tre år som kontrollassistent i Tisdadsorten och Björnlunda kontrollföreningar. En kommunens "allt i allo" skrevs det i tidningen när Eric som hedersgäst deltog i Rönö kommunalfullmäktiges avslutningssamkväm i december 1970. Eric var under ett kvarts sekel en av de mest engagerade kommunalmännen i Rönö/Ludgo. Det var främst inom socialvården han utförde ett arbete som är svårt att nog uppskatta. I sitt arbete att ordna för gamla, sjuka och hjälpbehövande av alla slag har han varit nära nog outtröttlig och det är till stor del hans förtjänst att Ludgoborna år1957 kunde inviga sitt nya pensionärshem Rönnliden. För sina insatser har Eric Törnqvist tilldelats Svenska kommunförbundets guldmedalj och plakett. Vid Erics födsel hade fadern nyligen tagit ett arrende av trädgården med vatten och land på Vrena Gård i Södermanland. Eric flyttade sedan som ettåring med föräldrarna till Nora utanför Tärnsjö i Västmanland. Vid moderns död 1908-01-14 är far fabriksarbetare i Mackmyra i Valbo församling utanför Gävle. Som elvaåring återkommer familjen till Salthälla i Bogsta norr om Nyköping. Fadern gifter sig för andra gången och tar ett torparkontrakt på torpet Löfnäs under Öster Malma från och med den 14 mars 1910. Eric som fört dagboksanteckningar från år 1913 till 1974 nämner att han till den 13 mars arbetar Eric i Herrgården (Öster Malma), kör rovor, släpar timmer m.m. Förmodligen det arbete som utlovats i faderns torparkontrakt. Den 16 mars flyttar han till Uvsta där han får en lön på 250 kr per år, sin förstaanställning. Hösten 1917, 10 september - 20 oktober genomgår han en utbildning till kontrollassistent. 1917 flyttar familjen från torpet Löfnäs och fadern arrenderar gården Hult. Den 2 september 1921 skrev Eric kontrakt på Hult hemma hos Smedberg i Aspa. Tisdagen den 25 oktober 1921 sker första frukosten i eget bo. Året 1937 köpte Eric fastigheten Hult för 7600 kr. Säljare är Werkmästaren S Gustaf Andersson, Stockholm, som i sin tur köpt fastigheten1919 av handlanden i Aspa, Adolf Smedberg. Åren 1938 - 1942 och 1944 - 1949 arrenderar Eric även gården Fnöska och samtidigt hyrs Hult ut för semestergäster.1942 bestämde dåvarande ägaren av Fnöske, Mellstrand, att han själv skulle driva gården. Han gjorde dock konkurs redan efter två år och Eric fick därefter fortsätta arrendet t.o.m. 1949. Som mest fanns 4 hästar, en tjur, 11 kor, 8 ungdjur, 4 svin och 50 höns på gården och det var åren 1946 - 1949. Året 1960 köps fastigheten Ådala i Aspa för 10 800 kr, det gamla mejeriet i Aspa, och stora arbeten med att göra om det till bostad påbörjades. Inflyttningen sker den 24 april 1961.     Streets, seals or seeds as early manifestations of urban life in Turku, Finland Liisa Seppänen In the 2000s, the studies concerning the early phases of urbanization in Finland have re-actualized after many decades. The studies have focused on Turku, which is the oldest town of the present-day Finland and has been a target for many excavations. The focus of this paper is in the beginnings of the urbanization of Turku with the questions when and why the town was founded. The questions are old and discussed in many studies since the early 20th century. In this article, these questions are reflected on the basis recent archaeo- logical findings and the circumstantial evidence from historical sources. I am presenting my interpretation about the course of events, which led to the establishment of Turku. The town was not founded on a virgin land, but it was preceded by human activities like farming and possibly gatherings of religious or commercial nature. The political circum- stances activated the planning of the town in the late 13th century, which were realized in the turn of the 13th and 14th century. It seems, that the urbanization process took several decades and probably it was not until the mid 14th century when Turku met all the bench- marks set for the medieval town. How mercantile possibilities and opportunities offered to them, reflected on their political actions and social bands. The Axelsson brothers of the Tott Dynasty would become of one of the most powerful noble families within the Nordic Union between 1444 och 1487. Axel Pedersen (Tott) would through well chosen marriage alliances into the noble families of both Denmark and Sweden, and with political prowess lay the foundation for one of the most dynamic family empires of the fifteenth century. In the year 1442, the Axelsson brothers swore loyalty to each other; to protect and defend their mercantile and economical interests in Denmark and Sweden. They would eventually control the trading routes in the border areas of the Union, and by exploiting the political chaos within the Union they would gain access and influence to the land trading routes for export and import within the Union and the shipping export routes in the Baltic Sea allowing them access to the Russian market through Finland and Estonia. The island of Gotland, with its tactical and important geographical position in the Baltic Sea became the key to the Nordic Union. Olof Axelsson (Tott) sailing under the Danish flag took possession of Gotland in 1449.

    HERITAGE ALERT February 2016 ICOMOS International Committee on Historic Towns and Villages EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The city of Vyborg is one of the oldest fortified harbor cities of the Baltic Sea region. The city came within the bounds of the medieval Christian states and during its 700-year history has been part of different nation states – Sweden, the Russian empire, Finland, the Soviet Union, and the Russian Federation – retaining the continuity of cultural development until the mid-20th century. The cultural and historic heritage of Vyborg has been uniquely multicultural. The magnitude and range of its cultural values are greater than what is even officially recognized today. Meanwhile, the current physical condition and heritage perspectives of the city are attracting increasingly more international attention and research. The master plan of Vyborg and active urban planning documentation adopted in the absence of the protection of cultural and historic heritage zones, as well as the level of the administration management, do not provide efficient protection of the built heritage. Notes for the protection zones project developed in 2010 are not eliminated, and consequently the project has not been approved. It was also in 2010 that Vyborg was awarded the status of “historical settlement of federal significance”. However, a number of buildings in the city centre currently stand abandoned and some of them lie in almost total ruin. In April 2013, following a decision by the local government, demolition began of the major part of one of the quarters in the medieval urban nucleus. However, its full demolition was stopped by the governor of the Leningrad Region.

    GRANHOLM GENEALOGY Finland/Sweden Historical Wars 1 INTRODUCTION This book describes the historical times of the wars and battles when Finland was still a part of Sweden. It precedes the history of when Finland became independent, which is in the book “Finland’s Independence, the Birth” . I have not included all battles but enough to give a picture of how we have almost constantly been at war. It is also about our relatives at those times. In most cases I mention a person only once, although that person has been part of many other battles. Many of the persons are the Swedish and Finnish rulers and officers when Sweden was a major European power. The following words from the “Tales of Ensign Stål” by Runeberg illustrate the accomplishments of these heroes in the poem set to music in the “March of the Björneborgers”. The poem mentions just four battlefields. In this book I have listed many more from the First Crusade almost 900 years ago to the brief fight in 1854 at Halkokari in my hometown Gamlakarleby in Finland. “Sons of fathers brave who bled On Poland’s sand on Narva’s moor, At Leipzig, Lützen, never stinting.
