Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide is the definitive companion to George Lucas 's space fantasy, revealing the full story of the epic battle between good and evil a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. As a visual guide to the movie it is very good, it gives a lot of extra information about the characters, planets and technology shown in the movie, and if you want to know which planet is the mother of Jyn Erso, or the type of blaster that Death troopers use this is the right book.

  • Review of Rogue One: a Star Wars Story
DVD reviews Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Gareth Edwards US 2016). Walt Disney Studios 2017. Region 1. 2.39:1 widescreen. US$23. Sean Guynes-Vishniac After the release of Revenge of the Sith (Lucas US 2005), the third film in the Star Wars prequel trilogy in 2005, George Lucas and Lucasfilm had no plans to add further feature films to the multi-billion-dollar franchise. This was in part because fans of the original Star Wars trilogy (1977–83) hated the prequels, and because Lucas was now interested in television, starting with the animated series The Clone Wars (2008–14, 2019). When Disney bought Lucasfilm, they announced a new trilogy extending the saga of the Skywalker family, and several standalone non-saga ‘anthology’ films to fill narrative gaps in the universe; Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of these anthology films. Its position raises important questions about the contemporary state of the transmedia sf franchise, while its narrative looks at the limits and possibilities of sf blockbusters’ political work. To provide an easy entry into the franchise’s storyworld, Rogue One offers a cast of new characters that fit (and slightly modify) well-known franchise types: protagonist Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), for example, pairs the scruffiness of Han Solo with the paternal drama of Luke Skywalker; Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen) takes on the Jedi mystique and mentor role of Obi-Wan Kenobi; K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) is the non-human, comedy-relief sidekick, a cynical update of C-3PO. Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), however, stands out thematically, mixing the scoundrel qualities of Solo with the risky charm of Lando Calrissian, and bringing a moral ambiguity to the normally black-and-white world of Jedi and Sith; perhaps these qualities have led to Andor’s being named as the protagonist of one of the upcoming Star Wars series on the new streaming service Disney+.

Cyber Security NEWSVol. 3 | Issue 6 June 2018 FBI | Elections | Canadian | Android | BMW | Sound | Home | Suggestions | Stats | Challenge Hello everyone and welcome to this month’s TXDPS Cyber Newsletter. This month I want to start off with an article I found that I believe several of you might find interesting. Especially other Star Wars geeks like me. Here is the article: Rogue One—the best cybersecurity videotraining (Kaspersky.com 4 May 2018) Last year we analyzed an incident depicted in Star Wars: Episode IV. However, we got the feeling even back then that the security failures that led to the destruction of the Death Star were only the tip of the iceberg. The Empire’s problems with information systems security are clearly of a more galactic nature. Fortunately, researchers from Lucasfilm conducted a thorough investigation of the events preceding this incident and published it under the name Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here’s what this video document revealed. Security begins with HR Rogue One begins with the Imperial Military’s head of innovative projects, Orson Krennic, and a team of HR specialists headhunting top developer Galen Erso to work on the Death Star superweapon project. What do we know about Erso? First, he previously worked on the project before tendering his resignation. Second, he’s in no hurry to return. But Imperi- al HR makes him an offer that he can’t refuse, and back he goes. Later, it hits Krennic that Erso was an industrial spy, the source of the leaked plans. Such an employee should never have been allowed to work with sensitive information—or hired at all—something the HR team should have picked up on at the recruitment stage.

It has been accepted for inclusion in Electronic Theses and Dissertations by an authorized administrator of Digital Commons @ ACU. ABSTRACT Mythic narratives exert a powerful influence over societies, and few mythic narratives carry as much weight in modern culture as the Star Wars franchise. Disney’s 2012 purchase of Lucasfilm opened the door for new films in the franchise. 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the second of these films, takes place in the fictional hours and minutes leading up to the events portrayed in 1977’s Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Changes to the fundamental myths underpinning the Star Wars narrative and the unique connection between these film have created important implications for the public memory of the original film. I examine these changes using Campbell’s hero’s journey and Lawrence and Jewett’s American monomyth. In this thesis I argue that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was likely conceived as a means of updating the public memory of the original 1977 film.
