Rules to regulate the conveyance of M eat. 1. These rules shall apply to the Townships of Nairobi and shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1910. 2. Carcases of animals or m eat intended for jale for hum an consum ption shall not be conveyed along any road in the Township otherwise than in a clean covered cart. The owner of any carcase or meat conreyed in contravention of this rule shall be liable for each oflence to a fine not exceeding fdteen Rupees and in default of payment to im prisonm ent of either desck iption for a term not exceeding seven days. 3. Save when engagecl in the loading or unloading of any cart used for the conveyance of carcases or m eat as aforesaid, no person shall sit or othervise be in any snch cart in such position or in such part tlaereof that he m ay com e into contact with any carcase or m eat therein. 4. No Africau or Asiatic shall carry any carcase or m eat intended for human consump- tion into or serve in any butcher's shop, stall, m eat m arket or slaughter house unless he shall be clothed in a clean white tunic or suit reaching from tlae neck to at least the knee ; and no butcher or vendor of m eat shall employ auy zkfrican or Asiatîc in carrying any carcase or m eat inteuded for hum an colasumption into or from or în serving în, any butcher's shop. , stall, m eat m eat or slaughter house uuless such N ative or Asiatic duriug such employment shall be clothed in a clean w hite tunic or suit reaching from the neck to at least the knee. 5. Any perslln who contraveoes any of the provisions of these Rules shall be guilty of an offeuce and shall be liable for each such offence to a flne uot exceeding fifteen Rupees or to imprisonm ent of either description for a term not exceedilag seven days. 6. Offences against these Rules shall be cognisable by the Police.

The M arket Alaster shall furnish duplicate ipvoices to the Town Clerk of all sales. 4. The M arket M aster shall be appointed by the M unicipal Com mittee. 5. The M arket M aster shall if required by Consigners take deliverr of produce and shall charga out of pocket expenses in addition to the Conlmission. A1l produce however will 1ie at owners risk. 6. Horses and Ponies attending the Nairobi Races, at a single fare for double journey, irrespective of distance.
