The Vanderbilt was a replay of the Open Board-a- Match Teams at the 2000 Fall NABC in Birmingham where Gromov & Co. won the event – less than a board ahead of Rosenkranz, Lev, Mohan, Gawrys, Pszczola and Eddie Wold. This was the second North American champion- ship for the Russians and the third for the Poles, who won the Spingold in 1997.
