Western Region Football League ANNUAL REPORT 2008 35 TREASURERS REPORT DOMINIC DRENEN – TREASURER

t is with satisfaction that I report another strong fi nancial year for the WRFL. Our year end performance $111,246 INCOME Igenerated an operating surplus of $73,432. Half of this is redistributed back to our football clubs giving a fi nal surplus of $36,716 (compared to last year’s fi nal Properties Division surplus of $36,950). $463,390 • As indicated to clubs last year we identifi ed two key areas Finals Series of specifi c fi nancial focus for 2007 and I am pleased to report growth in both aspects; $557,215 • AREA 2007 2008 DIFFERENCE WRFL Clubs Sponsorship $75,525 $91,843 +$16,318 • $169,726 General Operations Finals Revenue $163,046 $169,726 +$6,680 • For the new season we will continue some preliminary work that has begun on reviewing our Properties division with a goal of growing revenue and restructuring the costs associated with these purchases to provide greater profi tability and hence more value to our Clubs and the League. Our Balance Sheet continues to consolidate with an asset base in excess of $750,000 and total equity of almost $550,000. As we move into more diffi cult economic times and ongoing concern over the impact of the drought it is comforting that the League has built such strong $97,903 EXPENSES fi nancial foundations. I would particularly like to acknowledge the fi nancial Finals Series management of John Batty and his team to once $314,787 • again come in under budget for operational expenses for WRFL Clubs the season. • We will continue to manage the WRFL in a fi nancially responsible manner, recognising that we are custodians $399,722 Media/Major Raffl es of the competition for just a brief period in time. • $48,705 • General Operations
