Models and Modeling in Technology In close relationship with the importance given to the philosophy of technology in the program structure, and for the first time in its history, the Congress presents a special topic of interest that will be the focus of a series of lectures and symposia: "Logic and Science Facing the New Technologies" This presents the opportunity for casting a strong light on an issue of major importance today, namely: the integration of contemporary technologies in sciences and in society. Questions surrounding this issue are likely to interest the scientific community, as well as a variety of social actors and various partners involved in the congress. It is our hope that devoting a series of plenary lectures, symposia and special sessions to this theme will enable and logicians to help deepen our understanding of the most promising orientations in science and even help promote future advances in human civilization. Also for the first time, there will be a call for contributed symposia in addition to the call for contributed papers. Both calls will be issued on 1 June 2010, with 31 October 2010 being the submission deadline. In addition to the scientific program, a series of events for a wider audience will be organized before and during the Congress.
