Scott Newman, AIA Cooper, Robertson & Partners Scott Newman, AIA, is leading the design and construction of MoMA QNS for Cooper, Robertson & Partners. Mr. Newman is widely recognized for his expertise in museum planning and design, and has been working with The Museum of Modern Art for six years on a number of assignments, highlighted by his role as Partner in Charge for this project. In New York City, Mr. Newman has led CRP’s architectural services to advance the goals of several institutions, including the American Museum of Moving Image, the New York City Opera and New York City Ballet at the New York State Theater, the Whitney Museum, and the Museum of the City of New York. Among Mr. Newman’s current assignments are projects for The Saint Louis Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, and the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. Cultural institutional projects that CRP is designing with Mr. Newman serving as Partner include the state-of-the-art Shaker Museum and Library to be located in Mt. Lebanon, New York, and the new museum and visitors center at the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. Mr. Newman joined the New York City based firm of Cooper, Robertson & Partners in 1986 and has been a Partner for several years. CRP is an 80-person architectural practice with a broad range of work for institutions, public agencies, and private clients across the country. The firm has been the recipient of numerous design awards including American Institute of Architects National Honor Awards for both architecture and urban design in the same year. CRP received the 2001 Urban Land Institute Award for Excellence and the 2002 AIA award for excellence in new community design. Mr. Newman has received a National AIA Award, as well as recognition from the Municipal Art Society for his residential design work. MoMA QNS is right across Queens Boulevard from 33 Street station. • E or V trains to 23 Street/Ely Avenue station. It is approximately a 15-minute walk along Thomson Avenue/Queens Boulevard to MoMA QNS (right on 33 Street). • N or W train to Queensboro Plaza station. Transfer across the platform to the 7 Local train (to Flushing). Go one stop to 33 Street/Queens Boulevard station. MoMA QNS is right across Queens Boulevard from 33 Street station. Bus: Q32 or Q60 to 33 Street at Queens Boulevard. Car or Taxi: From Manhattan take the Queensboro (59 Street) Bridge to Queens and follow signs to Queens Boulevard (Route 25). For MoMA QNS, turn right on Van Dam Street and left on 47 Avenue. Make another left on 33 Street. The entrance is on the left, between 47 Avenue and Queens Boulevard.
