Rotary Awareness Campaign Launched in Toronto
ROTARY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED IN TORONTO Part of making sure that all visiting Rotarians will feel welcome in Toronto for this June’s Convention is to build awareness of Rotary within the Greater Toronto Area. Seven Rotary Clubs within Districts 7010 and 7070 have commissioned ten murals by young artists within their communities to help tell the story of Rotary and all the good it does in the world. These original works of art have now been put on display in ten Toronto Subway stations and will remain in place through the convention period. Each mural has on it the name of the sponsoring Rotary Club(s), the name of the Participating Partner and the Vibe Arts logo. Insert TTC logo here STAFF REPORT ACTION REQUIRED Renewal of West Construction Field Office Lease – 1 East Mall Crescent Date: April 27, 2016 To: TTC Board From: Chief Executive Officer Summary The purpose of this report is to seek the Board’s approval, in respect of the lease of the premises located at 1 East Mall Crescent, Suite 200 (the West Construction Field Office), to extend the term of the lease for an additional five years, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in this report. Recommendations It is recommended that the Board: 1. Authorize the execution of the lease amendment agreement to extend the lease between Madekat Holdings Corporation and the Toronto Transit Commission for the lease of the premises located at 1 East Mall Crescent, Suite 200, Toronto, for a term of five years, and amend the lease to provide for an additional option to extend for five years in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the agreement and as summarized in this report, in accordance with the Toronto Transit Commission’s policies, and any other documents or agreements arising as a result of entry into the lease, acceptable to the TTC’s Head - Legal and General Counsel. 2. Approve the expenditure of $396,980 plus HST for rent payments for the premises (including utilities) for a five year term, subject to change from current projections due to the escalation of additional rent, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the lease. Implementation Points The recommendations are for TTC staff to proceed with negotiations of the extension and amendment of the lease in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in this report. -

STAFF REPORT October 7, 2002 To: Policy and Finance Committee From: Chief Administrative Officer Subject: Candidate Projects: Canada Strategic Infrastructure Fund and Border Infrastructure Fund and the Status Report on Infrastructure Funding Programs Purpose: This report recommends priority projects for submission by the City of Toronto to the Canada Strategic Infrastructure Fund and Border Infrastructure Fund. A status report on City of Toronto’s participation in Provincial and Federal infrastructure funds is appended to this report for information. Financial Implications and Impact Statement: There are no financial implications to the City of Toronto arising from the recommendations of this report. Access to Federal infrastructure funding would relieve some of the City’s fiscal pressures. It would also enable the City to make progress on the maintenance and enhancement of its infrastructure. Recommendations: It is recommended that: (1) Council submit a request to the Federal government through the Canada Strategic Infrastructure Fund for funding to maintain and modernize the infrastructure assets of the Toronto Transit Commission as follows: - Streetcar and Track Renewal and Replacement – $622 million over 10 years; - SRT Expansion and Modernisation – $133 million over the next 10 years; - Subway Fire Ventilation Upgrades – $250 million over 20 years; and - Easier Access Program – $270 million over 18 years; (2) Council submit a request to the Federal government through the Border Infrastructure Fund for funding to the Toronto-Rochester -

Copies of the report are also forwarded to each City of Toronto Councillor, the City Deputy Manager, and the City Chief Financial Officer, for information. The report is also available on the TTC’s website. Financial Summary Each monthly Chief Executive Officer’s Report includes a variety of financial details on TTC budgets and projects. These details are provided for information only, there are no financial impacts associated with the Board’s receipt of this report. Equity/Accessibility Matters The TTC strives to deliver a reliable, safe, clean, and welcoming transit experience for all of its customers, and is committed to making its transit system barrier free and accessible to all. This is at the forefront of TTC’s new Corporate Plan 2018-2022. The TTC strongly believes all customers should enjoy the freedom, independence, and flexibility to travel anywhere on its transit system. The TTC measures, for greater accountability, its progress towards achieving its desired outcomes for a more inclusive and accessible transit system that meets the needs of all its customers. This progress includes the TTC’s Easier Access Program, which is on track to making all subway stations accessible by 2025. It also includes the launch of the Family of Services pilot and improved customer service through better on-time service delivery with improved shared rides, and same day bookings to accommodate Family of Service Trips. -

Miller, Ph.D. Professor, Department of Civil Engineering Director, Transportation Research Institute Research Director, Travel Modelling Group University of Toronto James Vaughan & Monika Nasterska Travel Modelling Group, University of Toronto Transportation Research Institute June, 2016 i Executive Summary Project Objectives On December 11, 2014, City Council directed the City Manager in consultation with the Province/Metrolinx to develop a work plan to undertake an accelerated review of the SmartTrack and RER plans. Council also directed the City Manager to retain the specialized services of the University of Toronto Transportation Research Institute (UTTRI) to support the planning analysis and required transit ridership modelling as a component of the overall review.1 On February 10, 2015, City Council considered the report EX2.2 SmartTrack Work Plan (2015- 2016), and approved the accelerated work plan for the review of SmartTrack.2 The UTTRI component of this work was to provide transit ridership estimates and other key network performance measures using the City’s new Regional Travel Demand Model (GTAModel Version 4.0) developed at the University of Toronto by UTTRI. As detailed in the final Terms of Reference for the UTTRI work, this work included: • Confirming the integrated RER and SmartTrack Service Concept to be modelled. • Completion and validation of a new travel demand model system to be used by the City of Toronto in this and similar studies of transit ridership and travel demand. • Development and review of forecasting assumptions that provide key inputs into the transit ridership forecasts. -

King-Queen-Queensway-Roncesvalles Project 501 Queen The shift in routes at King-Queen-Queensway-Roncesvalles described here has been deferred because phase 1 of the work will not be completed as expected on July 21. Schedules and routes shown below will be implemented when the project reaches the state 501/301 Queen Rolling street closures will be in place between Bay and Fennings (east of Dovercourt) for water main, track and streetscape work effective the week of July 12. 501 buses will divert to parallel streets as needed. When the KQQR project shifts to phase 2, 501/301 buses will operate directly along Queen rather than diverting to King Street west of Dufferin. 504/304 King When the KQQR project shifts to phase 2, bus service on the west end of 504 King will be consolidated as one route between Dundas West Station and Princes Gate Loop.
