Annika Beck is off the mark: the Porsche Team Germany player won the Luxembourg Open and at the same time celebrated her first career WTA title. In Saturday’s final, the 20-year old was an easy 6-2, 6-1 victor against the Czech Bar- bora Zahlavova Strycova. Last year saw Annika Beck lose the final of the 250,000 dollar indoor tournament in the Grand Duchy. However this time around against Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, the 2012 French Open junior champion converted her first match point after one hour 33 minutes to record her first ever win on the WTA-Tour. It was the fifth WTA title this year for a Porsche Team Germany player – the previous winners were Andrea Petkovic in Charleston and Nuremberg, Mona Barthel in Bastad und Sabine Lisicki in Hong Kong. Representing the Porsche Talent Team Germany, Anna-Lena Friedsam won her first WTA tournament when triumphing in Suzhou, China in September.
