[23 February 2011] “Edirne – the City of the Three Rivers” At the invitation of KRUG Art Movement and in partnership with the Edirne Associations of Art Photograhers, Turkey, the exhibit “Edirne – the City of the Three Rivers” by journalist Enver Shengyul is visiting the Art Gallery from February 25 till March 25. Following an excellent welcome of this exhibit by the connoissors of the cities of Yambol and Haskovo, it will be shown also in Kardzhali. Enver Shengyul has a master degree in Art History. He is the director of the famous Museum of Health in Edirne and a lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts at the Tracian University. He is the author of the books, “Selimiye” and “Darussyifa”. Shengyul has worked as correspondent at the Turkish National Television – TRT, the Hürriyet Daily News and the Anadolu Agency, and he is also the president of the Edirne Associations of Art Photograhers. He has been working with art photography since 1985 and has had 60 exhibits in the country and abroad. The exhibit he presents in Bulgaria contains 30 research works, which shed new light on Edirne’s unique cultural historical momuments and its beautiful nature. Some of them were taken exactly at the place where the three rivers – Maritza, Arda and Tundza meet before they flow into the Aegean Sea. Through Enver Shengyul’s lens, the viewer can observe remarkable places, connected to the cultural history of Edirne – one of the oldest cities in Europe, with especially rich cultural historial heritage. The author will be present at the opening. The exhibit opens on February 25 (Friday) at 6 pm. [16 March 2011] Travelling Exhibit with Faces from the Rhodopi Mountains Opens at the KRUG Art Gallery On March 25, at 6 pm., Haskovo photographer, Zlatko Latev, winner of many national awards for art photography, will celebrate his 50th anniversary with an exhibit at the Art Gallery in Kardzhali. The working title of the exhibition is “Our Locals” and it contains 25 art photographs of primarily elderly people from the small villages of the East Rhodopi Mountains and Sredna Gora Mountain. “This is portrait reportage, but presented in an artistic way,” says the author. The photographer has participated in two photo-planners at the village of Duzhdovnitsa and is the organizer of the national photo-planner “Duzhdovnitsa’ 2007”, the art pieces which came out of which have been shown throughout the country. The Exhibition “Our Locals” contains works made in the last 4-5 years, some of which have already won prestigious awards. Zlatko Latev is also the author of the “Photograph of the Year 2008” from the VII National Photo Competition, organized by Canon Bulgaria; he won a golden medal at FIAP in the exhibit “Photovacation 2010”, first place at the contest “Bio-diversity – we are all part of it” by EC, and many others. In May, the exhibition “Our Locals” will visit the American College in Blagoevgrad, at that it will be in Kyustendil, and by the end of year will have toured Haskovo, Sofia, Primosko, Stara Zagora and other cities. [13 April 2011] 10 Children and Young People from KRUG Youth Alliance Participate in a Competition Organized by a Greek Foundation For one day, the KRUG Art Gallery was transformed into an art studio for 10 Children and Young People from the Youth Alliance of the KRUG Art Movement, who are preparing to participate in the competition “Greece through My Eyes”, announced by the Greek Cultural Foundation and the Greek Tourist Organization in Bulgaria.
