Edna McKeown THE funeral has taken place of Edna McKeown, aged 100, formerly of High Legh, who died in Farnworth Care Home, Bolton on July 11. Mrs McKeown, nee Pirrie, lived at High Legh from 1969 until 2014, and was actively involved with St John’s Church, the local school, Women’s Institute, Mother’s Union, the Village Hall and bowling club. She is survived by her two children, Gillian and Peter, three grandsons, Simon, Mark and Jack and great granddaughter Isabel. The McKeown Woodland Walk in High Legh is named after her and her late husband, Tom, for 45 years work in the community. Funeral arrangements were by John Burrows and Sons of Lymm. Derek Ratcliffe Traditional Values MODERN IDEAS THE funeral took place at Altrincham Crematorium of Derek Ratcliffe, of Lymmington Avenue, Lymm, who died on July 9 at Cheshire Grange, Lymm, aged 84. Derek was born in Lymm in 1932 and lived in the village all his life. He worked as a butcher with the Co-op and later was the newsagent at Warrington Hospital until his retirement in 1994.
