Proposals outline in the legislation are backed by Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin, among other Democrats. “Just this past year, we saw thousands of ballots mailed to residents who had long since changed addresses, and mean- while Secretary Galvin has so far refused to even acknowledge a request made by Republicans to hold a review of the last election’s strengths and weaknesses, and instead he and the rest of the Democrats want to make mail-in voting permanent,” Lyons added. Lyons pointed to concerns voiced by several town clerks regard- ing the lack of signature verifi cation systems and references photos that surfaced ahead of the 2020 election of reams of ballots sitting unattended outside several Massachusetts town halls. “Voters deserve a free, fair, and secure election process,” Lyons said. “When half the country doesn’t trust that process, Democrats should fi nd out why before trying to make it permanent.” He also singled out language in the VOTES Act stipulating bal- lot signature comparison inspections “except if a family member signed the application … or if the voter received assistance in signing the application or the envelope.” “That line about ‘voter assistance’ is classic Democrat Party- Early 18th-century depiction of the dedication of a Vestal, by Alessandro Marchesini speak for ballot harvesting,” Lyons said, referencing the controver- sial practice of allowing third parties to collect and deliver ballots. “Voters need to feel assured that their vote counts, and proposals Nothing in Rome is said to be the king’s daughters is trace- one whom they escorted was like these only serve to sow more doubt and division.” more ancient than the institu- able to their position of honor also protected from assault. • Heroes and Rallies Baseball
Heroes and Rallies Baseball Setup Pick two teams to go head to head, and fill out your lineups on the scoresheet. Each team receives 8 skill assignments to give to individual players. All of the skill assignments listed below must be used within your starting lineup for a total of 8. A player may possess two assignments if you wish. Rate your lineup by placing the appropriate notation beside a player’s name on the scoresheet. 1) star hitter (H) 2) star slugger (S) 3) star runner (R) 4) star fielder (F) 5) poor hitter (H-) 6) weak hitter (S-) 7) slow runner (R-) 8) poor fielder (F-) Once a player has a skill assignment, he cannot transfer it to another player. There is one additional skill assignment available for an ace pitcher (X). You may, however, choose not to start one. Make any pitcher a poor hitter as well (H-), so there will be two poor hitters if a pitcher is in the lineup. Game Play Roll the dice for each player who comes up to bat, reading the colored die first and the white die second. If a result occurs on the Batting chart which displays an image of a ballplayer, the inning is considered finished with no further scoring. Draw an X in the box on the scoresheet representing the current hitter’s at-bat. When his team next comes up to bat, the next player in the lineup will hit. If the color of a chart result corresponds to the color of the skill assignment of the player who is currently up to bat, the result changes to the one shown on the bottom of the Batting chart.
